I know a proud boy who doesn't get why it's such a big deal to be a little bit racist, transphobic, or bigoted and asked me, on the day after the election when a large portion of his friends publicly disowned him, if I thought he was a bad guy. This was two nights after he drunkenly shared a love story, in which he and one of his old best friends, shared an otherwise tender night when they ended up sucking each other off. What prompted the story was us all sharing stories about grab rear end games. He ended up weeping out this love story. So no, self-awareness is not their strong suit. PS we all tried to support him in our own fumbling bumbling ways and encouraged him to live his truth. Two days later he voted for Trump.
