Abridged series for a series that's still ongoing always seems like a bad idea. Kind of what made the original work is because the anime was old and just hitting the nostalgia zone while being absurd enough to have plenty of parody material. Dragon Ball Abridged is basically a dream team of TAS veterans putting their all into it. (I remember watching a buncha Sailor Moon Abridged and dropping off at some point) It's not easy to do well. They could totally do Dragon Ball Super Abridged, if only because it'd feel like a natural enough continuation. They've already done a few clips from it, apparently. (The one with Whis marriage counselling Goku and Vegeta, and Beerus and Goku ordering pizza)

I loving loved Naruto Abridged as an 11-12 year old kid. I got bored a couple nights back at work and tried watching it again for nostalgia value and christ it was so bad I then went on to do the same for the actual Naruto anime, with similar results. Dragon Ball, however, remains good.

That said, I watched the Yugi v Kaibs duel in Darkest Dimensions and I can see why I liked it. It's just a Shonen Battle Anime with cards. Verbatim.

I remember LittleKuriboh’s Naruto Abridged “fan-based parody of a fan-based parody” being pretty good but it’s been a LONG time since I’ve watched it - no idea if it holds up. I like the idea of a series just directly making fun of Naruto Abridged, though. Naruto itself holds up really poorly and even as a kid I couldn’t make it through more than like five episodes of the famous “100 straight episodes of filler” section (though I was a pretty big fan before that, being a dumb kid and all). Dbz holds up way better in comparison, but I don’t think that’s really surprising considering how it managed to stay so relevant for decades. Well good to see that Vegeta doesn’t get sidelined in the movie. Was a little worried with the last trailer just having Goku fight Broly which looked like the finale. Goddamn Vegeta SSGS is rocking it. Kinda wished that Vegetas would be red and goku be Blue like kinda yin and yang thing but then we wouldn’t have gotten Prince of all Sparkles Royal Blue Vegeta.

Basically, give them a reason to use both SSG and SSGSS. Kind of like the difference between SS and SS3, but Blue is actually useful compared to SS3.
