At least Nissan will let you option a Frontier with a V6 and 6 speed. If Toyota's still offering anything with one, it's very likely a poverty spec Tacoma. I only discovered this about a week ago, but you can still buy a Dodge Ram with the 6.7L I6 diesel and a 6speed manual. I’d imagine that the take rate must be rapidly approaching zero percent. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in the wild.

The take rate better be fuckin zero because the G56 transmission is a garbage, even more so than the 65RFE which is pretty much just a hosed up torqueflite Ordering a ram 2500/3500 with the G56 manual limits you to 350hp/660ftlbs. Ordering it with the 68RFE limits you to 370hp/800ft/lbs. You need to order the Aisin 6 speed to get the full 410hp/930ft/lbs StormDrain posted:Is it still detuned from the auto version? No, as an example, we're going southbound on a feeder road and our office is just after a stop light, on the right. The speedlimit is 50 MPH. He will be driving, in 5 or 6th gear at 55-60 MPH, go through the light, and then put it into neutral, let out the clutch, and coast the half-mile or so to the entrance to our office. When he leaves the parking garage, he'll lug it around in third gear.

God dammit I've got a friend who does this same thing and it drives me up the wall. Even worse he sucks rear end at rev-matching so he will throw it into gear without using the throttle at all with a huge lurch. If he had just left it in gear he wouldn't have had to rev match at all! He also will rev it to the moon and slip the clutch until he's going nearly 20mph too. I've tried to teach him how to do it properly so many loving times but it just won't stick. He'll do it right for like 10 minutes before going back to his old ways. Even worse he's convinced that letting it coast in neutral idling is using less gas than engine braking down a hill. Just talking about it is getting me frustrated.

I can't heel toe. Im the terrible driver. I engine brake until the revs drop below 2k, use the brake the rest of the way, then downshift and rev match after I get off the brake. I've tried learning but I always end up stabbing the brake when I go to blip the throttle. um excuse me fucked around with this message at 03:17 on Nov 17, 2018 |

You probably just need a gas pedal extension or riser, a lot of cars are loving difficult or downright impossible to do consistently in deep braking with stock pedal placement.

Subaru hasn't changed pedal placement much over the years but i have not driven a current wrx. It's def pedal placement and foot size and footwear dependant. I could not heel toe an older mustang very well and have big feet. In my subaru, it's a bit of a reach barefoot, i don't get great feel in boots, and I actually prefer my thin soled running shoes to puma speedcats because they're wider.

Heel toe is a lot more applicable to a track environment where you're already on the brakes hard anyway.

Ford is notorious about placing the gas pedal much lower than the brake pedal. There are aftermarket parts to either raise it or widen it. I'm partial to Mazda and Honda pedal boxes myself, and BMWs tend to be very good too. Wrar fucked around with this message at 14:56 on Nov 17, 2018 |

My '11 WRX and current '15 STI feel pretty much the same as far as pedal distance. It's absolutely footwear dependent though. I stalled the car a couple times in one day a few weeks ago and I didn't do anything different other than wearing a pair of shoes I hadn't worn in months that made me feel like I was putting more pressure on the clutch than I actually was for some reason.

In Austin, they did away with those pieces of crap, and replaced them with more expensive crap. Mercedes CLAs and GLAs only. They also have a contract with the city to tow on sight if you park in a Car2Go space on a public street. Learned that one the hard way (thank gently caress before the tow truck showed up... I used a space for <5 minutes to make a delivery, came out to find a cop... he told me I can park wherever the hell I want for a few minutes if I have a delivery sign and aren't a dick, EXCEPT for those spaces - they have absolutely no leeway unless the vehicle operator shows up before the tow truck). I wonder if it would hold up to the full 900+ ft/lbs... or if the gears would the moment you stomped it. I also forgot Ram now sells the 1500 with a diesel. Apparently a neighbor has one. Walked past it yesterday while it was idling (he'd just parked, I think)... "huh, that doesn't look like a 2500, why does it sound like a diesel?", then saw the 1500 and EcoDiesel tags. fake edit: just googled, been available since the 2014 year model - I've never seen one before. He's wasting gas if it's anything with electronic fuel injection. If he'd just leave it in gear and coast the half mile, giving it a little gas when needed, the ECU will cut fuel entirely while coasting until you get below a set RPM. And yes, this will be in his owner's manual.

I have a 2002 model Saab 9-3 with the fancier Trionic 7 ECU and based on the OBD-II data it doesn't seem to cut fuel flow. ODB is still showing fuel flow when I'm engine braking and if I disengage clutch the fuel flow reduces.
