Just seeing Mick writing in the "previously on" made me laugh and once I realized where the story was going I couldn't fuckin wait. Takeout girl is great, make her a regular. Now that we got a better look at the flashback guy, WAS it Manny? It didn't look like Harold Perrineau to me but he's got the fashion and facial hair.

I love that they actually went somewhat subtle with the real world history stuff this time around instead of beating you over the head to point it out. I didn't realize until the end that the director dude was Ishiro Honda, the creator of Godzilla, and Tagumo was basically Godzilla V.1, with the exact same rationale behind its creation. Also the dude directing the samurai movie that Sara and co. walk past when they arrive in Tokyo was Akira Kurosawa, who was Honda's best friend and a longtime collaborator behind the camera. That was a nice easter egg

Why is the ex-shapeshifter con artist a part of the team now? She has no powers and is actively untrustworthy. And it's fuckin' weird to have her stuck in Amaya's body for convenience of casting. If they like Maisie Whatsername so much, write Amaya back in, or maybe a granddaughter that looks just like her.

That was a nice easter egg The stuff about Hiroshima was very affecting, although I gather not true, looking at Wikipedia Honda was a POW in China at the time. Still, it was a very visceral scene and edged up on actual criticism of the US nuking Japan, which was not something I was expecting to see in a show as goofy as LoT.

She's basically Nate's replacement so to speak in regards to knowing who the cast is dealing with for any given threat. Whereas before it was "Something is wrong with history, but we don't know what," it's now "We know something is loving with history, but what the hell is it." Having no powers never stopped someone like Sara from kicking rear end and being actively untrustworthy previously fit Rory to a T and still sorta fits Constantine. With Nora eventually joining, that'll be another person that at least everyone other than Ray thinks is untrustworthy.
