This hotheaded engineer makes a desperate race against the clock to call off the billion-dollar Challenger launch, convinced the O-ring seals will fail and kill everyone on board. Well, he didn't quite make it. Also I saw a news article about how there's a movie where Amandla Stenberg plays a young woman in Nazi Germany who falls in love with a young man who is in the Hitler Youth (yeesh) and it is making the news because the producers are trying to squash bad publicity by issuing DMCA takedowns whenever someone shares clips.

While the article's headline is focused on Bautista, it does also leak that Timothée Chalamet has been cast as Paul and Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica.

I get that they're trying to go old school to pay homage to old-school id games by making big windy levels that are kinda puzzles in and of themselves, but they really missed the mark with it. Everything else about the game is top-notch, though.

muscles like this! posted:Well, he didn't quite make it. Considering that about 98 % of 14-18 year old boys at the high point were in the Hitler Youth this seems a pretty common story for young women/girls in Germany 1933-1945 and not really something worth telling? All other youth organizations were banned or heavily penalised, so not being a member was not an easy feat after 1933 (and boys who didn't belong usually were exposed to beatings and repercussions), since the goal was the "total control of the next generation through the party". Hello I'm the overly long, back to back death sacrifice scenes for every minor character in the Rogue One heist gang. You surely grew to love all of us during the brief time we were in the movie so these heroic death scenes will mean a lot. Say our names in remembrance. Pilot Guy, Machine Gun Guy, Blind Guy, and Sassy Robot. RIP.

Since we are Star Wars derailing again I watched Attack of the Clones recently and now that I'm older and have some distance from it, angsty teenage Anakin is fine. Yes, he is an idiot teenager. But that's what they were going for and it's fine for a character to be a dumb idiot who doesn't do the things I would do, a viewpoint I didn't have when I first saw the prequels. Watching Anakin turn to the dark side by being an idiot is a bit like watching a horror movie. The character makes bad choices and the audience can scream "don't go in the shed!!" but he's gonna go in the shed and the whole point is to make you feel the stress of "don't go in the shed!!"

The idea of a prequel for the character in Rogue One is weird to me. Not because we already knows how he dies, but more because he's going to look visibly older by the end of the show than he does in Rogue One.
