Sometimes I understand wanting to try out samples of unique foods but other times I just think "who hasn't eaten Fruit by the Foot before?" I ate my first sample at Costco last week because it was late and the lady needed her last sample gone so she could go home.

Yeah depending on the person doing the sampling you can get a sample that's like 3 or 4 times the normal portion in that kind of situation. One of the perks of being a Costco employee is that the sample people take good care of you.

I haven't seen that before at a Costco, but yeah good olive oil you can drink a shot of it and taste the complexities in it. No idea what they were serving there, but it can often have some interesting flavors in it.

The only sample I've ever waited for was a hefty piece of smoked salmon on top of a cracker with some kind of cream cheese spread. Totally worth it.

My Costco basically has a permanent Aidell sausage sampling table, right by the busy meats/cheeses/rotiss chicken/pesto/refridgerated section, and it's allways a loving shitshow. I keep thinking who hasn't had this tiny thimble cut off a sausage already its been here for loving years everyday, yet peoplecrowd around with their carts and everything like flies on poo poo abatedly waiting for an infinitesimally small cut of a sausage. they aren't even that good

I'd say that table is there about 50% of the time and it's loving huge. The table itself gets in the way and the people trying to get a sample make everything worse. What's confusing about it is that there's always plenty of samples to try out. People grab a sample and just stand there, trying their best to be stay in everyone else's way. What are they waiting around for? The world may never know. The funny part of those tables is that they have the opposite effect. The giant display make me think that maybe buying some sausage is a good idea, then every time I sample it I change my mind and walk away.

You should not receive a sample until you have shown that you parked your cart responsibly. "Oh the middle of the aisle entrance? Hmmm yes the cart should go here while I stare longingly at tiny bits of free food"

What if they just put all of the samples in a corner of the store so that people who really need to... do that... could do that away from people who just want to shop and leave. The only problem is that leaves the goon whose children rebel if they haven't stuffed their mouth in 5 minutes out to dry, but we make compromises where we must

Sometimes some geniuses would use the Kmart cart at BJs and it was always a poo poo show. You could fit one or two things, then you were done. Even for a small trip it was useless. The tiny dimensions of the cart meant it was impossible to Tetris anything in. A paper towel roll didn't even fit

I won’t pick on the samples because in my experience half the people anywhere in Costco are the type to jerk to a sudden and complete stop directly in front of you or leave their cart blocking an entire aisle. I’ve learned to be more aggressive about shoving peoples’ poo poo out of the way.

Yeah I don’t know why but costco shoppers are definitely the most infuriating. Doesn’t matter which location I go to there is people just stopping or crashing into my cart or blocking the entire aisle by parking the cart sideways (why?!?) It’s wonderful in that hour before closing though because you get the serious no nonsense folks. Weekends are the worst, of course.

Costco optical I great accept for when you live in a retirement community and it's always 10 people ahead of you for ordering your glasses/contacts. Takes forever. Also death to bad cart parkers/pushers. They should paint lane stripes and add stop signs and yield signs. And horns.

When I worked at Costco as a Janitor, using the floor scrubber to clean up a spill when the store was open was always a nightmare. People would cut half-a-foot in front of you and the scrubber is actually motorized so it can't stop on a dime. And no matter how stupid they were if they got hit you would be the one crucified by management so it was just a 15 minute anxiety-inducing obstacle course to clean up the frappuccino from Starbucks some jackass brought in from outside.

How long do you need to wait to get back in line for the free samples? How many times can you go through the free sample line before they stop giving you free samples? Also does it work if you put on a different Halloween mask every time you go through?
