Watching you sleep.

Butt first, let's
check the feeds.

I just finished the US Being Human. I watched it when it first aired but wasn't sure if I had ever finished it. I tend to just kind of zone out during hiatuses and "lose" shows. Turns out I had only seen 2 of 4 seasons. I feel a little bad speaking highly of it since I had to binge hard since it will be leaving Netflix in a couple of days. But I'm really glad I did. There's some ups and downs story wise, a lit bit of "drat it, Aidan, AGAIN!?", and its kind of funny how a new season often seems to come with an off screen wiping of the slate of whatever stuff they set up last season but decided against after some time (I'm looking at you spend 2 seasons setting up an absurdly silly complicated vampire political system and then do a time jump where a mysterious virus wipes them all out only for it to get cured a little while later, but it was probably for the best). But all in all I really enjoyed it and got totally consumed by the characters and the ending was really nice. I think they could have done a little more with the Rowena character but I really liked the idea of ending the series with the house itself being haunted/a spot of evil besides all them and them having to fight their way free of/defeat it to every truly be free. And the final few minutes of the series just put a big sappy smile on my face even though I completely and totally expected it. Just a much more pleasant viewing experience than I thought I was going into when I remembered a series that is like a constant supernatural kick in the balls. But it came around.

And hey, any show that starts with "So a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost move in together..." and ultimately delivers zombies, witches, and demons satisfies my horror fan itch when I'm looking for something maybe a bit more casual.

I might give the UK version a look soon. Its the same deal where I know I watched some of it but pretty sure I tuned out before it finished. I know I got past the point where they changed the cast. Do long running UK shows do that a lot? I guess in fairness US shows do I just tend to watch the network procedurals like Law & Order who do much. I digress. I think I'll give it a look but from what I remember that's maybe a bit more of the bleakness that I was expecting the US version to be.

Episodes. Can't believe I had never even heard of it before I randomly watched an episode (...) on a flight. Fantastic show.

Ironically enough they had a bit in one episode on how you can't use words like 'cock' on television, and they go through a list of possible euphemisms. Now, when they did the airplane version of that episode, it turned out they could not even say most of the euphemisms, and it ended up with a really weird dub like 'What's a good word for knob? How about... knob?'

Anyway, it is a fantastic show and you will love it. Have a look at Green Wing if you haven't, even though it is not similar it is by the same people.

With bonus woman-of-the-moment Olivia Coleman (and plenty of other cool people). I love Green Wing, but would happily watch anything Tasmin Greig is in anyway.

Just finished The Young Pope. A bit hard to watch at times because it's rambling and lacks any distinct storyline, it feels more like an excuse to do some character studies and show off some acting, costumes and set building... But in those areas, it excells. Especially the intermingling of thoughts/dreams/fantasy with reality is superbly executed.

Just binged through Broadchurch S1 and it was fantastic. Been putting it off for some time now. Just started Season 2 and I'm at the second episode (where a key piece of evidence has been thrown out) and uh, that poo poo is so loving stupid that I don't think I'll continue watching the series and just leave it at S1. Just finished Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I started it a few years ago and paced myself except for the last third of S7 which I binged.

I skipped a few Ferengi episodes, but otherwise that was a lot of fun. I'm gonna miss those guys. Kira is the best.

Season 3 is actually a real good return to form/final new mystery and only barely talks about season 2, if you want to give it a go.

I've been thinking about diving into You. One of my friends described it as a mashup of early season Dexter meets The Collector by John Fowles. Is that accurate? Because if it's done well that sounds pretty drat good.

I’m two episodes from finishing the first season. It’s good, though there’s some funny movie logic. It’s like Gone Girl sorta but with the twists put into overdrive.

Half the posters in this forum have been made up. This website is a goddamn ghost town.
Early on, I did think You was going to go back and forth with the woman sometimes being the "main" character with the voiceover, but that only lasted one episode. I wonder if that would've been better than always being in the stalker's head.

Corporate on Comedy Central is AMAZING, and hilariously accurate as to the soul killing nature of being a gnat in a massive corporate machine. And the season premiere is on currently.

So I'm still enjoying season 1 of 12 monkeys for the most part but I hear it gets better. I'd say the only thing about it that bugs me so far are the constant episodes where it's like "oh whoops the time travel machine done hosed up, how are we gonna get out of it this week!". Not that they are bad or anything, but I'm interested in these villians and conspiracies and back stories, etc.

Nobody told me Superstore's so nice. It's not high end comedy or changing the world or anything, but watching it is just... it's nice. It's dangerous to binge on too much though, because the episodes are a little samey, but three or four in a row just works for me when I'm having a poo poo time.

I suspect it's a Wyatt Cenac availability thing -- the show was written with the expectation that he'd be available, and when he couldn't be the network didn't want to fund reopening the writer's room to rewrite the season.

Im up to Season 6 of rewatching 24 and the politics in this season are so weird, especially since I'm sure the show had been in trouble for the racist stuff and was tryna be more fair by this point. The only way any of it makes sense to be is if there is one ultra right wing writer and one centerist arguing over every episode, so far we've had:

-Kal Penn's character gets attacked by evil racists and saved by the good guy! But then it turns out he is actually a terrorist so I guess the racists were right to try and kill him?

-Muslims being rounded into camps, this is portrayed as a bad decision by the evil politician, but again loads of terrorists end up being in the camps so it was right again?

-CTU agent Nadia gets profiled for being Muslim, to which one character responds 'for god sake she's a republican!'. I cant even understand what message they are tryna convey here.

Joel Surnow, who co-created 24, is very right-wing (for instance, he also created the conservative version of The Daily Show which was cancelled after one season, if that) and I think he had final say as producer.

I remember watching an episode a few years ago and hating it. That said in the fall of last year I started to watch it on Hulu when nothing else was on and I enjoyed it. I don't think it is great or anything, but it is better than almost everything else I've seen come from network TV lately.

First season of Superstore is very much finding its way, there’s a big improvement beginning really early on in s2. Can’t remember the exact number but there’s an ep about the actor who plays Cloud 9’s mascot turning out to be a cannibal or something and that was when I first noticed that it had gotten really good

Just watched all the Ted Bundy Tapes and it was pretty interesting. I remember when I was a kid in Florida and they executed him. It was all the adults would talk about for weeks and even our teachers talked about it. I was like 9 years old. I also never realized just how different he could make himself look. Guy was smart, blended into society, had a good sense of humor, was good looking, could change how he looked by just styling his hair or growing a beard, and was very clever and quick witted. It was just the worst combination of things for a sociopath to be equipped with.

I've watched 9 out of 10 episodes of You and I am still not sure how I feel about this show. I could only watch 4 episodes yesterday because the constant tension was making me too anxious, haha. I will say two things though, these people live in NYC yet apparently manage to find themselves alone in place that should be swarmed with people constantly and also get some curtains if you live on the ground floor of a building and like to have sex in front of the windows.

I watched this and it was really interesting. I've seen/read a ton of stuff about Bundy but this had footage and audio I've never seen/heard before. It was really good.

Also on Netflix I started watching Hilda because the animation looked real good and I wound up watching like five episodes in a row, it's really good.
