From just looking at it, the Genesis version was way better. But yeah the SNES version was a much better game. Same with Jurassic Park. Not that the Genesis versions were bad, the SNES versions were just better games with more to do.

IV never gets any appreciation, it wasn't on the GBA re-releases either. It's by far the best in the series.

She’s CD owned if only cause of the start up music. That poo poo was bad rear end as a 90s kid

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzTSF61epwo

Also Ecco the Dolphin owned. I only had Ecco 2 but it always seemed like this cool adventure seeing how far I could get into the game especially when the weird alien poo poo started coming into play. The kill sound was just this high pitched buzz so you’d just be swimming around exploring or some poo poo and then this terrifying poo poo would rush you and scare the poo poo out of you as you died.

I never played or heard about it originally but Gunstar Heroes is included in basically every single Genesis throwback collection now and is like the only thing playable/sorta fun still. It's super easy even though most of it's contemporary games still had the old school ruthless 'pump more quarters into the machine' mentality, so you could actually beat it, which was nice.

The GBA Sequel, Gunstar Super Heroes, is really fun too. I'd say it's at least as good as the first one and there's some really neat classic Sega callbacks, like there's a cool helicopter level that plays exactly like Thunder Blade.

Uh, kind of? Knuckles Chaotix was a game which played a lot like Sonic but given it was a spin-off I'm not sure it counts. There was a Sonic game in the works but it was cancelled before release.

bold statement: jank rear end master system sonic was actually p. good

It was pretty good and they also ported it to Game Gear. Same with Sonic 2 and Sonic Chaos. The only thing I didn't like about the original was getting hit didn't make you explode into a fountain of rings, just one ring popped out and you could not recollect it.

Iirc Sonic 2 and Sonic Chaos included ring explosions, but Sonic 2 on GG was really loving difficult because it was so hard to see projectiles.

Whole lotta people comparing hardware capabilities of the Genesis to the SNES when it should be compared to the NES - (Super Mario Brothers 3 was released after the Genesis came out lol). Genesis/Master System came out 2 whole years before the SNES. Streets of Rage games were awesome. There are a ton of terrible JRPGs for the SNES which nobody would ever want to play.
