Back in the day there wasn't a ton of it and you could catch up real quick and it was dumb/fun. Now there's 70 hours of it and the last 30 of them kind of go forward procedurally to maintain the plot contriviances of the past and it's good it'll end and everyone will have one last giant orgy.
