I roasted a big ol’ chicken the other night and used some of the leftovers in a sandwich for lunch. Spicy mustard, crisp romaine, tomato slices, and chunks of breast and thigh meat on thick sliced potato bread.

Nothing for lunch today again. Probably leftover pizza at some point. I love sandwiches but mine are really bad so I like getting them other places. I use some italian bread, preservative filled turkey or sometimes ham not even from the deli but the plastic container, cheese which is generally sharp cheddar, provolone, pepperjack, or muenster, sliced Clausen (never cooked!) pickles, mayo and local Wisconsin Düsseldorf mustard. There probably should have been a semi-colon in there somewhere but I'm not the best at using those. Only in obvious cases. Ah well. No lettuce or tomatoes because that would involve keeping perishable items on hand. Someday I'll up my sandwich game. The sandwich is probably my favorite type of meal. As in the most common that I'll eat. I mean if I could eat steamed mussels in a white wine cream sauce and toasted garlic bread I'd do that. But sandwiches are cool. edit: try out Koops mustard if you see it at the grocery store. It's made just a few miles from me. They have a bunch of good stuff and it's really cheap (especially here I'd imagine). They have all of your standard mustards but the Düsseldorf is great. I've never heard of it before until my parents got it one time. It's just all of your standard mustard ingredients. It has a hint of spice, basically just mustard spiciness, but even though there isn't any in it I taste an undertone of horseradish. It's nice and my go to mustard. Yesterday I made a falafel sandwich. We have a Mediterranean bakery that makes fresh pita bread and it's so good. 1. Slather inside of pita with tzatziki from the bakery, and a dab of hummus 2. Slip in two slices of tomato 3. Mash three falafel balls into that pocket 4. Sprinkle diced red onion in there 5. Top it with some Crystal brand hot sauce 6. Eat it 7. poo poo it out 8. I can most definitely skip breakfast, but I'll never skip lunch. On this new kick now where I either pre make a sandwich or pack leftovers. I spent $350 on groceries in planning for two weeks, instead for dropping $13-$20 eating out for lunch. Eating at wendys, McDonald's, taco Bell, poo poo even Subway, for five bucks is nice in theory, but definitely leaves it's mark. Whenever I find myself asking myself why I've been feeling like poo poo, that's almost always the answer.
