All this is is gonna do is make any indie wrestlers who have even remotely built a brand for themselves that much more hesitant to sign a long term contract with WWE. So uhh, yeah keep doing it

how much time is left on sasha's contract and aren't they just going to freeze it/add time to it if she's not at the shows

Even Harper would only be 11 if he sat from now until next March when his deal's now ending

poo poo, the WWE stock’s already down 10 points on the day, might as well do some spring cleaning on the roster. Just let Harper go already, guys. Send Sasha packing and release some of the guys on NXT that will never be used.

Just going through the Observer and Dave lists the rosters as they stand now after the Shakeup & then further tinkering. Smackdown really has 1 face tag team, Heavy Machinery? I assume he's not included New Day because Big E is out for the time being but that's an unbalanced roster. He also said "If there wasn’t the doctrine not to book Anderson & Gallows, they could fill the void, and they still could." What on earth is that about?

pressedbunny posted:I don't understand why someone would re-sign if they were that unhappy with how they or anything else was being booked. From the sound of it Sasha has been disillusioned for the last couple of years; how much money did they throw at her feet to not just gently caress off when her then-current contract was up? They'd been jerking her around about maybe listening to her and doing the tag belts as a thing around then, and she did think that'd mean a big push because it's what her and Bayley tried for at least a year to get So she signed, then they finally did it, had them retain like once and then drop it at the biggest stage possible to move back down to the low-card

I don't get how wwe can allow you to sit out your contract. Does that not violate their end of the contract? Like isn't the whole point of having a contract that both parties will live up to their expectations? If you're not booking the person doesn't that give them the right to go elsewhere?

WWE would probably argue that as long as they keep paying them, they can pay them to sit at home. Vince has enough money that he can pay people to put them in a drawer for years. Given women’s average wrestling career length they may gamble that putting Sasha on the shelf for 2-3 years may finish her.

It seems obvious to me that maybe you shouldn't publicise that you've asked for your release until after its been approved? If not than WWE will just bury you and extend your contract to publicly save face. Like you'd think Harper and Sasha would learn from how Neville was treated. Like I understand it's effective if your goal is to make WWE look like the villain, but it's not super useful if it's putting your ability to work elsewhere in jeopardy if you're not planning to fight it in court. Harper seemed to be trying to leave on positive terms too. Dacap fucked around with this message at 16:55 on Apr 25, 2019 |

Dacap posted:It seems obvious to me that maybe you shouldn't publicise that you've asked for your release until after its been approved? The issue isn't staying quiet or not, the issue is whether the WWE think you can be of value to the competition. Or potential competition. Or potential distant number 2 that's not going to in anyway be competition but still offer enough of an alternative to drive wrestler pay up. Tye Dillinger & Goldust were deemed not that important. Raskolnikov38 posted:i wonder what would happen if sasha or haper tried to go on jon oliver's show lol Aside from the obvious answer of "really bad comedy because it's Jon Oliver's show", the WWE would probably stop it much like they stopped Undertaker & Angle from doing Starcast. Which is funny as a windup which makes WWE look bad on the charity front when they inevitably turn it down if nothing else.

All it would take is one good lawyer willing to take on a wrestler's "WWE independent contractor" case pro bono, and I guarantee you that particular wrestler would be granted their release quicker than Kevin Dunn could do jump cuts between cameras.
