No but seriously with 3 episodes left this show should have absolutely killed like 5 more people.

I actually enjoyed it more than I expected but man they can’t seem to let go of the “main character about to die but other main character intervenes in a badass way” trope. It happened to everyone high enough on the totem pole to merit it and I kinda wish they had the guts to drop that particular writing convention

Guess we'll never get any more info on the motivation of the white walkers than Sam's poetry reading from last week.

ElGroucho posted:That was dumb as hell, can't believe any of you liked that That is exactly why I liked it. Big dumbass trash TV. The plot has been totally hosed for a while so I don't even care that it was just monster mash all along with the Walkers.

Did Tormund survive? That one's a question mark.

NightKing not being the final boss is a bit of a disappointment. Did Grey Worm survive? I don't remember what happened to him.

That ending for me was just full of bathos, with all that buildup. The battle had some cool looking moments, but I think Hardhome is still has the best "big" fight of the series.

As Nero Danced posted:Guess we'll never get any more info on the motivation of the white walkers than Sam's poetry reading from last week. I want to believe that Sam's actor was just high as gently caress at the time and walked on the set and said all of that and they all just rolled with it.

I honestly feel super bad for the Night King. He was robbed, big time. Up to the end, I honestly thought everything was going be resolved by the Night King taking/killing Bran, then his forces leave for a final battle later on.

This is like when the Ravens won at Denver when we thought it was Ray Lewis' last game. Then they won the Superbowl.

I dont get how the war against Lady Smugsalot is going to top that hot but entertaining mess. I mean unless Qyburn is now a wizard. Which given how dumb we've gotten I wouldnt be suprised!

I personally go for Battle of the Bastards. Felt like the one that seemed most like what I would imagine a medieval battle would be light, i.e. horrific.

a new study bible! posted:When did every central character develop mithril plot armor? Yeah that poo poo drive me nuts every single time something was about to happen there was a quick cut sword stroke I think this episode would have been better with some kind of exposition about the night king in general, I also feel he was kinda underserved as a generic monster

Nobody important died The central conflict of the entire show was solved by "stick them with the pointy end" I guess Euron and Cthulhu are the final bosses

episode really well done, easily top of the big battle list. I'm glad night king did second wave raise the dead, i was wondering if they would ignore that.

I'm glad King's Landing and Cersei will be the final battle. Much better than the white walkers.

So like, uh. Was Melisandre an un-controlled White Walker like Benjen Stark the entire time and that Lord of Light pendant was keeping her alive/free-willed and as soon as the Night King died and she took it off she keeled over like the rest of the white walkers?
|
![]() |
|
I'm astounded at how bad that really was. Why have someone with literally zero connection to the White Walker plot just sneak up and kill the Night King unceremoniously. Pathetic stuff.

i respect that they tried to do something different than previous big battles in the series; i'm mostly shocked they didn't kill more main characters
