So guys when Kami and Popo collected the six dragon balls during the middle section of the Frieza saga and and brought Guru back to life was it the actual Guru or a fake mirror universe Guru?

Also can someone explain why the gently caress Captain America not being able to move on after 60 something years or other and get another girl is supposed to be attractive or endearing? It's loving not. It's not romantic or sweet or anything. It's creepy stalker "nice guy" territory. Most superheroes have more than one love interest. Does Rogers not have more than one love interest in the comic book?

Does Rogers not have more than one love interest in the comic book? Captain America was not awake and conscious for all of those years and shockingly people actually do feel sad and miss people for a lengthy period of time especially when they have genuinely very little time to attempt a new life. (Cap went from being unfrozen to the Avengers to finding out Shield was Nazis and that his best friend was alive after seemingly being dead to Avengers 2: Electric Boogaloo to Civil War to Infinity War to 5 years of weird despair to Endgame. The closest he had to a normal life in that time frame was working for Shield between Avengers and Winter Soldier.)

A near-decade of celibacy, then dating Peggy’s descendant, then more celibacy, then creating and marrying a duplicate of Peggy - this all points to some kind of severe pathology.

SuperMechagodzilla posted:Right, your claim is that the more similar you are to a person, the more ethical it is to harm them - because you are ‘spectrally aligned’. No, that's not what I'm saying. I feel like I'm arguing with my cousin Kevin. Spectrum refers to degrees of something. For example when people say they're on the autism spectrum they mean that there are degrees of autism. Slightly autistic is in the asperger's area, and there are more extreme levels of autism that are further along on the spectrum, which is where we're approaching in this conversation. But I was referring to spectrums of identity and how much someone is the "same person". So if Captain America were to go back in time 2 minutes and meet himself, that version of himself would be almost identical. On the identity spectrum he would be very close to being the same person. But if he were to go back 10 years, the version of himself he encounters would more different from himself. On the spectrum of identity, he would be further away from being the same person, but would still have a lot of similarities. If he were to go back 20 or 30 years, the version of himself he encounters would be so far away from being the same person on the spectrum of identity that he would be a completely different person. The question of ethics is completely separate from this argument. When Captain America got into a fight with his slightly younger self, it didn't seem that unethical since his slightly younger self could defend himself and put up a good fight. It had nothing to do with him being closer to older Cap on the identity spectrum. Cap fights people who can defend themselves all the time and we don't see it as unethical. If he had gone back and fought a baby version of himself that would have been seen as unethical, not because he was further away on the identity spectrum, but because a baby can't defend itself. If Cap punched any baby we would have thought he was an rear end in a top hat. The spectrum has nothing to do with it.

Speaking of the time-loop cap theory (it's stupid but bear with me), Sharon spoke at Peggy's funeral. She clearly knew her great Aunt. Did she also know her great uncle (cap) then? Was Sharon Carter sexually attracted to her great uncle? hosed up if so. For this reason, people should ignore the time-loop poo poo the writers say, that way lies madness. Although incest porn is popular for some reason, so maybe they are just being topical. And there is no way Peggy reacts positively to Cap macking on her great niece (see cap 1 with the Natalie Dormer scene), so cap probably omitted that, meaning her consent is not fully informed.

Anyway now you’re just saying obvious things like Peggy A and B are similar to eachother, & it’s bad to punch a baby. But your argument was that the Peggies are so similar that they are, y’know, close enough: essentially the same (i.e. not the same).

Yes I know, but I'm ragging on the writers who didn't seem to understand that by making Cap Peggy's husband all along, they created a family tie between Cap and Sharon (even if not related by blood) so that means he made out with his own grand niece. Not the sharpest tools in the shed those two. And it's still weird that he made out with his true love's great niece.

It is more akin to a weird hosed up time travel version of "dating a woman's sister before you married her." How am I justifying it? I feel like you're rushing to yell Incest in a way that makes no sense. I'm not saying it's cool but there's a significant difference between those things and it's kinda hosed up to call it incest because a lot of people met their actual wife/husband through someone they were seeing at the time. That's the thing that bugs me because you're saying quite a few real-world people are Literally Incestuous and that's weirdly offensive. Also didn't you earlier say that you didn't think Steve was the same person? By your logic he didn't do that at all. He made out with someone completely unrelated to him.
