Also the ending sequence/fight for the library segment was... something. I'm not even entirely sure what happens before you fight the (I assume) Lasombra.

You come into the room from above, and look down onto the ritual. There's the local vamp who's the assistant and the Lasombra. You, in cut scene, sneak up behind the local dude and dust him, recovering the broadsword. Then a fight commences with the Lasombra. As it happens, I died the first time I did the Lasombra fight, so I figured it out when I saw it a second time. Dunno why I didn't stealth kill the Lasombra, though, which I'd definitely have tried for if they hadn't cut scene'd my control away.

The Lasombra have a real "the strongest have the right to rule, and we're the strongest or else we die" thing going. Their revised Clanbook is over of the best.

They also introduced the whole dark Catholicism/chilling adventures of Sabrina style motif to the Sabbat, which is awesome, both when taken seriously by the upper echelons, and sarcastically by street level punks.

I made it so one hotkey press will cast more than one discipline, so you too can Fortitude + Protean with a quick flick of the finger, or do whatever spell combo floats your boat!

First, press k to bring up the hotkey menu. Assign the disciplines you want to hotkeys. Press the hotkeys to make sure the disciplines are assigned correctly and will call up when the hotkey is pressed (I always slotted the disciplines in to the first drop down bar on each hotkey line). Pull up console with ~ and submit the following:

bind "x" "vhotkey #y; wait 1; vdiscipline_last"

Where x is the key you wish to bind and y is the hotkey number of the discipline you want to cast. This will instantly cast the discipline instead of merely selecting it and requiring you to use the right mouse button, as the hotkey does. This is pretty common knowledge available on various FAQs and forums. What none of them I saw seemed to realize, though, was that all you have to do to get two or more effects on one button press is simply repeat the second part of the command!

For example, the following executes the disciplines assigned to hotkeys y and z when button x is pressed:

bind "x" "vhotkey #y; wait 1; vdiscipline_last; vhotkey #z; wait 1; vdiscipline_last"

That's how I have my guy set up to simultaneously activate Fortitude + Protean (k menu hotkeys 4 and 5, first bars) when I press Q on the keyboard. I imagine if I wanted to add Bloodbuff in there I'd just repeat the hotkey-wait-vdiscipline cycle again, and so on for as many spells as I want to cram on to one button. I imagine that it wouldn't even have a limit of five spells if you used vdiscipline_int commands instead of vhotkey but as all I really wanted was Fortitude + Protean and I got that I'm done experimenting.

edit: never noticed Jeannette has hetero-chromatic eyes

edit2: Therese doesn't

edit3: the LP claimed that you can resolve the sisters' differences without having Persuasion 4 if you've been nice to them both. I've been nice to them both (console says their happy values with me are 7 and 5, and I heard you only need 4), but I can't seem to get the resolution ending by bouncing between supporting them in their final argument. Is it true I can do this without Persuasion, and if so, how?

I read that the plus patch made Intimidate more useful but I'm not seeing it anywhere. I intimidate Chunk - CHUNK - outside the art gallery and he doesn't let me in. I intimidate the Russian gangsters for Venus and they attack me. I'm pretty sure intimidating the cop on the Dane was totally pointless. The option doesn't even show up in even half of the conversations where Persuade does, and when it does show up it doesn't actually do anything. I used high Persuade on every previous run of this game, so I was really hoping for a little taste of something different. This stinks.

Yeah, I'm guessing the Bloodlines1 devs really focused on fleshing out Persuade first, but ran out of funds to make Haggle/Seduction/Intimidate useful in conversations.

Should have also been an option to have a 5 in Scholarship and tell Beckett/Strauss that you know already whenever they exposition dump on you.

It's... Ok? I played three episodes of it. It's quite stiff in that 'we don't have a big animation budget' way and the writing quality rarely rises above fine. The plot is bonkers and all about secret societies, so a natural fit for vampire.

In its favour, I found they did a good job making the skills you specialised in feel useful and opening different options.

We haven't even seen the spread page on the website yet, because I'd love to hear details on the clan. I'm guessing its gonna be Presence use in dialogue choices and as a way to influence both combat and social environments. Will they still have double humanity losses and gains?

I wonder if they'll include Waelkyrige Gangrel in game to spice things up.

Literal Valkyries? I'm in.

Ventrue will be one of the remaining clans, if only because they've already shown the requisite City-shot-from-on-high-with-wineglass. I feel like Nosferatu might get skipped to avoid creating an entire seperate experience of only sewer levels.

Seattle has plenty of underground that's not sewers.

True, but most cities do. I feel like Nosferatu will require a lot of clan specific content though, what with their whole horrifying to look at so keep out of the public eye shtick.

And that says to me that they'll be less likely to be a playable clan, at least on release.

More or less powerful Lady Vamps, working for The All-High (Methuselah who sold himself as literal Odin), looking for worthy mortals and vamps that wanna be vikings.

The trailer showed us fighting in what looked like an abandoned or under construction warehouse so it won't entirety be sewer based if they're in. But I'd rather Nossie than Venture to be honest. Ventrue'd just be Toreador but with dominate and being a "heavy is the burden of being the ruling class" bullshit setting I am definitely not in the mood for.

There's a lot of poo poo you can put in the underground of the oWoD. The sewers were bad because it's endless combat and running across corridors, not just because they're underground.

Honestly the only clans I'd actually like to be in are gangrel and malkavian, otherwise I don't really care which clans make it in. Definitely pass on the ventrue in favour of Nosferatu though.

You're right in that the problem wasn't that there were sewers, but that the sewers were awful.

I was going to argue that the Nos would require work that no other clan would see, but ideally that would apply to all of them, plus with this being a hub system I feel like you'd be able to see most of it regardless.

They've already confirmed brujah, tremere and now toreador. There's only five at launch, so only two unconfirmed. I think one will be ventrue. My other guess would be Gangrel but since they've announced there's going to be a werewolf themed dlc, it seems likely they'll be in that. Malk I assume will also be dlc.

Maybe it will be nossie then or perhaps they skip them and use lasombra instead to avoid the sewer problem.
