i think stock charts should have non-zero y-axes because you're interested in relative change from an index point and that index point is almost never 0.

Business Insider and yahoo finance are both American companies and both use American formats for their dates. Leaving off the day of the month would have been clearer but it's not that hard to figure out as is.
