The lettering of their screams makes me imagine Peter and MJ are both yelling out with the same heavy, gravelly voice. Peter especially may as well be George C. Scott going "AUUGGH, MY GROIN!"

I'm sure throwing one person to their death down onto a busy sidewalk and then throwing another right after won't bring any police attention to your cult.

Nah, MJ recognised Mysterio's hallmarks, and is questioning the identity of people acting out of character. Peter saving her was a little too competent, but getting bumped himself is right on the money.

No, see, they threw that guy off the balcony on the OTHER side of the room. Loomis knows it would be WAY too suspicious for TWO people to fall off the same balcony, but no one's going to question one on each side of the building. You'd have to be some kind of investigative journalist to notice THAT!

Isn’t this the plot to one of the Spidey TV movies? It’s been about thirty years since I’ve seen any of them but do remember eight-year-old me being all disappointed that there weren’t ever real villains. I know now that they were avoiding the Batman ‘66 stigma, but seriously is this really why anyone reads or watches Spider-Man stuff?

Being similar to an incredibly successful and fondly remembered tv show is a stigma?

Yeah, from what I understand they were avoiding anything at all campy, so no actual villains (except I think Kingpin was in one). I just remember it seemed like a ‘70’s cop show that just happened to have Spidey in it. Keep in mind it’s been a looong time, I’d be curious to rewatch them. No idea if they’re available anywhere outside of bootleg VHS copies.
