S.O. and I have gotten into screaming fights over this so ~tread carefully~. They're out of town on business all summer and I have a tire change appt coming up. Do I dare hang around for a solo Costco shop, or walk to a bar until I get my car back? I have never lived alone for this long/had to think about a Costco trip... for one.

Going to attempt another 'co run today. It's been far too long. I still have $362 waiting for me at the altar. I've never been there on a Sunday before so I think I'm going to carry my concealed gun. Do not, I repeat... DO NOT block my way by waiting in the sample line. I'm going to look for those pickles. Hopefully it's not a regional thing. Someone mentioned earlier that they have these Greek yogurt mint chocolate chip popsicles. I have 2 tiny things of Ben & Jerry's in my fridge though that have been there for 2 weeks or so, so I might not get it. Not sure if you guys have them but they have a bunch of cheese curds here (yay WI) as well as maybe 1lb packs of Babybel cheese which are about the same cost as the small packs at the grocery store. I don't think I can keep down a dog yet so if they have the al pastor salad there I might try it. I've never gotten anything besides a dog there. Not even pizza. If not I'll try half a dog then eat the rest later.

I got the dark chocolate covered pretzels again last time I went and they’re still phenomenal. The bag vanished in a ruinously quick amount of time.

No pickles but I found a big jar of olives stuff with garlic and jalapenos. I couldn't resist and had to get the dog. It was so crowded I had to get out of there ASAP. Never again will I go on a weekend. Me:

Zombie Dachshund posted:Agreed. Some sort of vinaigrette would be better. Oh! I haven't checked if the banh mi salad is back by me. I read some things when it disappeared last year that said it was seasonal. At least the dressing is vegan now, but yeah I use very little of the dressing and usually dislike creamy dressings.

I could see a banh mi salad being pretty great, maybe you could even make a pate/kewpie salad dressing, and have the cold cuts/cilantro/pickled veg/maybe some lettuce.

Costco says that the salad has "banh mi vegetables" but I can't find a single source of what "banh mi vegetables" actually means in this context. Costco seems to go out of their way to avoid explaining. It's probably just a meaningless focused-group marketing phras. At best they slice some carrots and daikon in.

Anyone have experience with; Louisiana Grills (24-in.) Ceramic Kamado-style Charcoal BBQ Grill I guess it's about the same (same company) as the pit boss they had a few years ago. I've been researching kamado grills for a few weeks and it might just be fine to go with $599 instead of $1000-1300 options (kamado joe or big Green egg) or the cheaper $300 ones. And I know about the Costco kamado joe roadshow, but they are like 2 hrs away. This grill is like 200-400 less at Costco
