I thought that the whole "Clone Army" part of the Republic was supposed to be seen as a bad thing. Like, I understand WHY Disney would do want people to support the authoritarian entity that is built on the backs of children because that's what it is, but I'm kind of surprised how much people have jumped on the bandwagon. Disney doesn't want to sell toys of characters that are openly fascists, so they took the fascists and waved a mop over them, so now you have new, young, exciting, gay women of color serving the evil empire that was literally nazis with the numbers filled off at the start. Basically, the bitch of buchenwald is a step forward for all women, says disney, because it sells toys.

In the Minions movie they instead of having them be some genetic monstrosities made by Gru, they've apparently be around since the beginning of time. They only have an instinct to follow the most evil people on Earth. The movie shows them severing under Napoleon in Russia, then they get locked in a cave until the mid-60's. So, you know some movie studio people had to have some serious conversations about how to not make the Minions Nazis.

The holocaust never affected me until the minions were photoshopped into the picture of the concentration camp. Putting the minions in there made it more real to me in a way seeing people I never knew would be you know the picture I’m talking about about the ponies in the holocaust

Which makes it more ironic when I see things like uberpatriotic red-white-and-blue storm trooper t-shirts being sold on Facebook.

I'll probably get ahit on for this, but Rogue One, while having that creepy rear end CGI resurrection spell, did do an awesome job of showing- in a Disneyfied format, at least- that neither side had a monopoly on morality. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk at the Wendy's Drive Thru.
