Have you accepted The Void as your lord and savior?
Given that 7 is getting EOLed it's probably a good time to slog through the hour-long install and then week-long process of getting random hacks from the internet to remove all the telemetry and fix it up to be like 7.

10 is actually fine to use as is. Just update and get the start menu fix change if that bothers you that much.

just bought this game to check out the new dread mode and i have to say it kind of owns. this is the only game i know that successfully models (many having tried and failed) both short and medium term zombie survival in a compelling way. i hope they keep adding more stuff to the foundation they've already established for a long time. e: my only critical observation is that gameplay is most compelling and plausible if your survivor community is limited to four or five people at max. observing this rule keeps you out of some of the best home bases however.

I really liked Breakdown mode not necessarily for the escalating challenge but because it constantly kept you on the treadmill. You can only take so many people and so much equipment with you into the next level, so you never really get to the point where your megabase is unbeatable and you're essentially done with the part of the game where you ever need to actually pay attention. It enforces a lot of the rules that you would make for yourself if you were trying to make your own challenge mode, which is great.

Exsqueeze me, why the sour face? I'm here to lemon aid you. Let's juice it.
Hit up nightmare zones. The limiting reagent there is not how many survivors you have but how many stamina consumables are you willing to carry with you.

Good, i'm starting to just condense everything back into one store if I can, as I currently have Steam, Gog, Origin, Uplay, Epic and Bethesda clients installed, starting to feel cluttered! :v:

Any idea when that DLC that returns to Turnbull Valley is due to hit? I’d love to see that locale with SoD 2’s mechanics.

Also a Breakdown mode.

The best way to do that is to go full Xbox. Only one store there :v:

The only question I have is whether this expansion contains scavenging and town building/upgrading, like I loved in the original game, or if it's a bunch of plot quests while shooting zombies, like in the last expansion I completely ignored.

Its apparently story driven?

If it adds to the amount of murder tools/survival items for every day gameplay, though, i'll take it

I think it was $30 at launch? I'm hoping for a GotY version that includes all the DLC so far.

Just attempted a new game run on the new difficulties/dread zones that was added a while ago. golly they aren’t kidding they really are hard. I’m afraid to try again with veteran survivors from a previous community because i’m certain they’ll get killed.

I just got this game and Heartland. It's pretty fun so far. It's more SoD, which is all I'm expecting from it. I miss boarding up windows and the search bar keeping your progress if you stopped searching to deal with incoming zeds. But those are minor complaints.

High point so far: I got a radio call from someone telling me we needed to talk. There wasn't a new enclave house on the map and she wasn't standing by my gate. Then I noticed the little icon moving back and forth on the road. I found a girl in a skeleton outfit with a blade running around choppin' up zombies. When the fighting stopped, she asked to join up because she was alone. I don't remember if she has any special skills, but the skull face mask and skeleton hoodie is pretty adorable.

Started Heartland, got to the first actual mission. Main character dies of Blood Plague with 2 hours left on the timer. I guess the Juggernaut pounding the floor kind of nearby that never actually hit me was giving me more Plague?

I'm just starting over anyway, I'm surprised you can continue Heartland with the main character dying.

blood juggs are not to be underestimated or trifled with. i haven't picked up heartland yet but that's something you learn early and well in Daybreak. the short version of it is that, yes, just the shockwaves from blood jugg attacks will give you plague and lots of it. in daybreak, the best guns are the ones that tear up blood juggs precisely because of this. i would strongly recommend packing accordingly if blood jugg involvement is suspected anywhere. at LEAST pack cure, preferably pack an anti-jugg gun.
