There are so many ways in which that whole thing was hosed up. Nobody was expecting Luger coming out of that helicopter, especially because he was still the heel Narcissist on television, so everyone on the ship is chanting for Hogan and then being really disappointed when it's Lex. EDIT: Luger also can't help but let his heel tendencies come out, first by basically telling the crowd to shut up so he can finish his promo when they finally start cheering for him, and then by shoving the ref across the ring so he can get to the turnbuckles after slamming Yoko.

So I started listening to 83 weeks and I'm enjoying Bischoff being called out on being a bullshitter. Did anyone ever produce proof that he offered Bret Hart a contract in 96? And I actually like listening to Bisch, hes just obviously full of poo poo but does make good points sometimes.

The loving contract is discussed on Wrestling With Shadows and Eric himself talked about it in interviews and chats back in the day.

I take everything Bisch says with a grain of salt but I love listening to the guy. I fully acknowledge it's almost entirely due to his on-screen character. I think most everyone agrees he was n amazing performer and heel (even people who dislike him such as Meltzer comment on him being a great performer) and I share that view. It's hard sometimes to separate the character from the reality.
