Crossing my fingers that Rich goes full Frank Miller, or Orson Scott Card, or the Dune guy-whose-name-I'm-not-going-to-look-up and we get treated to some batshit political beliefs. I mean, Rich generally has his head on his shoulders, but there's always the chance that he rolls a 1 on his Skill check (comic-writing).

Glad not to be the first to make the joke about american politics. Feels like kicking your friend when he's down, y'know? Also - the council could delay the vote without knowing what's even in it, 'cause of internal politics. No wonder the high priests in the moot went "not again". Schwarzwald posted:The Prequels: Anakin's compliance with and participation in the slaughter of children under his guardianship is the final emphasis that he has been lost. ...Are you sure you are in the right thread? How about a subject change? Thunt, author of I'm not linking the website, it still doesn't deserve the traffic posted:I've tweeted about this but I know not all of my readers use Twitter, so I figured that I should post this here as well. I'm transgender. This is going to be very strange or uncomfortable to some of you and I totally understand and respect that. Good for her. Her comic is still repulsive on every conceivable level, but maybe there's a chance she'll find some self-awareness now?

Wait, why'd you want this to be the case? Or does "crossing my fingers" imply the "not"? Or did you forget to write the "not"? I think you're confusing Herbert (who afaik is an avid environmentalist and the whole point of Dune was to talk about environmental issues!) with Heinlein? Or maybe Hubbard? Lots of H's in the right wing cranksphere but I'm pretty sure Herbert isn't one of them. To avoid embarrassment in case I was deeply wrong, I went and googled just now and nothing notable stuck out to me.

In the list of problems with Goblins (and Thunt), the drawing doesn't even make the top three. Unless you count "holy poo poo why is there so much unnecessary body horror" as coming under the umbrella of "drawing", but I'd say it's more to do with awful narrative (the number one problem Goblins has).

Might be interesting to see where the strip goes from here, if this means Thunt is going to move forward into a more positive place as a person.

Point of order: she doesn't go by Thunt any more, but by Ellipsis (Elli for short). https://twitter.com/Thunt_Goblins/status/1139009850204016640 (Though she says Thunt is still fine for a while until she gets her official namechange, apparently. Different strokes I guess.) Sorry about this, but I'm kind of a stick-in-the-mud when it comes to properly naming and gendering trans people. From personal experience, even if I'm not living out just getting out of the denial and self hate hole massively improved my quality of life and left me in a much better place to improve my health, mental wellbeing, and professional skills. So yeah, could be the start of a turnaround for her. Not like the art can get much worse anyway.

After a certain point, if you hate something enough you like it, period. People who obsessively read webcomics just to hate on it online are basically fans of a different stripe. Also is the art in Elli's twitter there typical of goblins? Looks fine to me?

In a shocking twist, the question that gets brought before the Dwarven council is not "Should we destroy the world?" but rather "Should all the goblins in OotS be drawn by the Goblins comicker?" Tangent: is there an English equivalent of "Mangaka"? "Author" and "Artist" don't necessarily encompass all the roles of a comics creator individually, and "Cartoonist" seems to suggest a more simple and humorous art style which wouldn't fit for a lot of the more Graphic Novel type stuff.

Author is fine. You can specify author and artist, but author works as a catch all since it can refer to a general creator.

Goblins, as a comic, is like watching the world's worst, most grognardy DM try and simultaneously run three separate groups of players through the same half-assed homebrewed D&D campaign. While everyone's on meth, both in-character and out. It also has some incredibly bad takes on what makes a "good" or "bad" paladin, compared to OotS's stellar examples.
