It's also pretty easy to argue the Nets largely overachieved this season. Their best way to have progressed would've been to add legit new pieces to a decent roster and not to simply replace existing pieces with slightly better versions of what they already had. Heck, is 31 year old DeAndre Jordan actually an improvement over 21 year old Jarrett Allen at this point?
