While I take anything Alberto says with a grain of salt, Mexico has a combination of public and supplemental or separate private healthcare plans. The private insurance plans are much much cheaper than the US so he could theoretically provide a supplemental plan for a fraction of what it would cost in the US. However this is Alberto and I've probably spent way too much energy typing this post since we know he's full of poo poo.

It's a really huge deal considering how Homophobia and Transphobia are still very prevalent in Mexican culture (thanks Catholicism).
