The latter two run infatrade, which supplied gap funding for a bunch of Ascendent Pictures projects. I smell a conspiracy theory, you little FUDster goonie..

I don't think most of you understand Robert's vision. If he released Star Citizen on time it would ruin PC gaming instead of saving it. He is delaying it so other studios can catch up.

It's weird, 3.6 hit the PTU yesterday night but I haven't seen any victory laps on reddit or in this thread?!? I need MoMA to get in here and tell me how cancelling all the AI and mechanics and only releasing 8 items out of 60+ scheduled is actually very good

In other news, they finally got those pesky shields tuned correctly. TLDR: 10 minutes of sustained fire from 4 ships cannot down a single shield facing on a Hammerhead now. Citizens praise this as excellent game balance.

So the massive stress on the shields for going 100% all the time starts to malfunction. It could take a minute. Maybe 2 minutes. But if you are under constant pressure from all directions you will quickly learn the benefits of having a squire on board running about replacing fuses here and there. Yes, I want to be a squire running around fixing poo poo.

I can't find the post, maybe a thread bot can help me, but years ago MoMA, while defending the game, said something about the firey wraths of hell he would personally visit upon CIG were they to fail, however unlikely he felt that to be. It was almost Derek-esque, but I liked it because it was the only time he let his guard down and his inner doubt shined through.

I might have guessed that this Marc Nitsche guy is overseeing the Roberts' family office, but I don't think they're actually wealthy enough for that to be a thing. So I guess they really just want his very useful tax evasion experience.

Rotten Red Rod posted:It kinda sounds like some fanfiction poo poo... But they did just add that Cayman Islands banker dude to the board of directors, soooo Nah, we've been speculating that for a while. That 46 million that was for marketing? CIG would have run out of funds without it according to their own books. The investors did their homework and that 46 million came with some serious strings attached, the most likely being Squadron 42 releases before the end of 2020. And if it doesn't, the investors reserve the right to sell back their shares and take the money right out of CIG's coffers. And if CIG doesn't have the 46 million lying around? Well, they have to liquidate the company to pay it all off.

Whatever promises he made or what ramifications it will have, he will find a way to continually delay. The difference between breaking a promise to kickstarter backers and breaking a promise to a VC investor is it's harder. But he'll still absolutely do it. This is the same guy that got railroaded out of both Microsoft and the movie industry.
