I saw the new Spider-Man movie the other day and I couldn't help but think of this thread, the two things that most reminded me of NSM were grabbing a festival mask and wearing it as a disguise because his costume was in his hotel room, and him repeatedly smacking his head on the bell when he was trying to hold up the tower.

The new SM movies definitely have some Newspaper in their lineage. Homecoming had some good bits too like where he tried to swing through the suburbs. I think that was actually from the comics but it's the right kind of *sad trombone* for the last panel of a strip.

The scene near the start of the film where he is going around the neighborhood trying to fight crime and just pissing off dudes trying to get to work is the best.

I also love him trying to be intimidating when interrogating Donald Glover who just notes,"Man, you're REALLY bad at this...."

It'll be a Mission Impossible 2 kind of situation. They'll pull off the Spider-man mask to reveal Peter-mans face, but then he'll pull that off to reveal another face, and this will continue for another few strips. Only to end with a Triple J mask.

Didn't this almost literally happen in a Batmam comic?

Other ways to escape from someone following your scent from in a tunnel:

A cab
A bus
Cross the street
Go inside
Stay still away from a manhole
A breeze, maybe? How's Kraven sniffing him from the sewers anyway?
If Kraven can follow Peter by scent, shouldn't he notice he smells like Spidey?
This whole scheme doesnt make a lot of sense

My googling is weak right now but there's an episode of V (the old one not the remake) where they replace the president with a computer simulation. It looks as bad as you'd expect from 80s CG and they all act like it's a flawless deception.

Peter, ffs, he was trailing you to get to Spidey, that means you just needed to go home and eat some pizza for him to decide to leave you alone.

Anyway, the first strip is quite up there in peak spider-manning

...why wouldn't they just have the actor pretend to be a simulation? Or were they using the actual real-life President?
