#1 best live show is M83 in case anyone was wondering!!!!!!!! God I love M83.

Yeah he's a fuckin blast live, and I'll still go see him next time he comes down here even though I'm not feeling the new album so much.

The S-K album is fine. I didn't like the Hot Rock too at first for being too experimental so your mileage may vary I guess.

The Center Won't Hold is a decent, frontloaded indie pop album that is generally missing the energy so fundamental to S-K's success

It's also definitely an album that will be the subject of #takes in 5 year's time like "Why The Center Won't Hold Is Actually The Best Sleater-Kinney Album"

Anyone seen Alex Cameron live? He's coming to Nashville in November but it's on a Wednesday.......I've seen people say he's good live but I want to make sure it's "drive 2 hours immediately after work for a 9PM show then immediately drive 2 hours back home for work the next day at 8 AM"-kind of good.

As the thread's dedicated French For Rabbits liker, here's a new song from them. Saw them play on Friday night, and all the new stuff they're working on is really cool, so with a bit of luck there'll be a new album in the next 6 months or so.

He had a lot of sexy sax when I saw him open for Delicate Steve, and that was cool. He didn’t do the old man makeup schtick. I probably wouldn’t drive that far for him.

These guys kind of drive me crazy because they clearly have a shitload of talent, but they throw it away by releasing 5 subpar albums a year. But if your thing is making a shitload of music as fast as possible, I guess minimal thrash metal works better than stoner psych rock.

Looking forward to the new Sean O'Hagan LP. He's the guy that pretty much wrote all of Stereolab's string & horn arrangements (and was in Stereolab for a spell) and he's also The High Llamas' frontman. The High Llamas are one of my favorite bands ever.

Any west coasters still sleeping on George Clanton, check him out and then get tickets to 100% Electronicon 2 in LA end of October. I just got back from the first iteration in Brooklyn, and it was one of the most fun single day fests I’ve attended. Killer merch, opportunity to get autographs and pics with every artist, and one of the most fun fan bases I’ve collectively partied with. Negative Gemini’s parents were wandering around throughout the day with her looking in awe at the whole event.

Bands like this, OhSees, the growlers etc, are a live act. The albums are supplemental to the show (and their next show and their next next show). They're tour dogs and their most memorable albums are live bootlegs.

I stumbled across this guy's personal blog yesterday. He used Spotify APIs to create automatically updating upcoming concert playlists for venues in the Bay Area & Seattle. He added a shitload of Seattle venues for me in under 24 hours so I'm assuming it's a pretty quick process if you send him an email with the venues you want to add.
