From https://pubs.geoscienceworld.org/ssa/srl/article/90/5/1950/573151/bear-encounters-with-seismic-stations-in-alaska In which the authors conclude that bears are responsible for ˜5% of the data loss experienced during seismic experiments in Alaska. They recommend hardening all equipment against bear attack, securing all equipment to the ground, and installing cameras to monitor bear activity. Also, moose, lynx, coyote, and smaller animals regularly visit seismic stations but don't really do any damage.

We had an eskie who would similarly bliss out when getting blow dried after a bath. She would have a total "Yes, my servants, this is as it should be" look on her face.

I read something about wolf pack hierarchy years ago, dispelling the whole alpha wolf thing. Packs are usually families and are usually lead by the parents. In one of the packs, the scientists repeatedly saw that when the leading pair would disagree on something, one of the pair, instead of fighting about it, would sit down and pretend to scratch an itch while they thought about what to do next. So the whole,"oh, uh, I was just suddenly really itchy" bluff is even found in that puppy's ancestors. I'm having trouble finding the article, but the words,"imaginary flea" suddenly came to mind, so I might be back with the link. Edit:nope. No luck.
