klafbang posted:Unfortunately not, Bitcoin is reasonably resistant to attacks using quantum computers. Mining doesn't benefit a whole lot and transition signing uses elliptic curves and hashes, which together are also reasonably resistant to quantum computers. i thought elliptic curves weren't that much "safer" compared to plain ol' RSA/DSA, they're just used cuz they have smaller key lengths for the same level of protection

My friend just can't escape bitcoins after his stint as a blockchain developer. I suspect the security guy at his new job tried to mine butts using their server resources. The same guy has randomly removed all dev keys from the instance just a couple of days ago, so he's definitely dumb enough to do that.

Ross has now written a blog post about how badly the criminal justice system needs to be reformed. Among other things, he says: Keeping people in prison for long periods of time is cruel and immoral, regardless of the crime. Prisoners should be allowed to choose their prison. Any/all prisoners should be allowed to pay to be released from prison, regardless of the crime. Calls himself a victim. https://medium.com/@RossUlbricht/incentive-based-criminal-justice-reform-e7a1b2c28b7a Ross continues to show that he's a worthless piece of poo poo.

I know that the real reason is probably just market manipulation, but I do think that the bill in Congress stating that all stablecoins should be treated as securities that got tabled yesterday might have something to do with scaring the tether crowd
