Two wrongs don't make a right but the biker was the aggressor and chose to escalate the situation with violence. The first rule of road rage is don't do it at all, because escalating the situation could get very messy very quickly. He was also foolish enough to escalate towards a victim with a bigger weapon than his own and he's lucky the driver decided to stop short of running him off the road. The driver would not have been justified if he had, and all I can say is that this is a situation where everyone comes out looking like an rear end in a top hat.
