Finally saw Electric Wizard last night and it ruled. The sound was great and they played pretty stacked setlist, but really just getting to hear Return Trip and Funeralopolis live was worth it to me. The venue is outdoors and it's finally gotten cool here in the last couple weeks so it was just a beautiful night on top of the show. I give it 10/10 pentagrams.

This guy is a monster and Mike actually seems healthier than ever. HoF always own. They played a solid 1.5 hour set with a great mix of classics and at least 4 or 5 tracks from Electric Messiah.

Oh, David...
The recent Sleep shows were really great, but they felt much more rigidly planned out and rehearsed than the ones I've seen in the past. They're a much tighter band now than when they first got together with Jason on drums, but they don't seem to jam as much anymore. The transitions where they would weave parts of Dopesmoker in and out of other songs were always my favorite moments at those early shows.

Electric Wizard was pretty great last night. Up close it was very hard to hear Jus’ guitar and vocals which was a shame, and at first I thought they sounded a little sloppy maybe but someone passed some weed around and it all made sense then. They also have an excellent big patch with sparkly silver thread :swoon:

This one does not match Pervertor but Charlie still makes some extremely disgusting noises (see: Damocles Falls). Easily one of my favorite metal frontmen in recent memory, though his best performance is with Cobalt.

Also with guest appearances from Dylan O'Toole, Dallas Thomas and Bruce Lamont plus production by Sanford Parker, this may be the most Chicago metal album ever.

Their old albums are good, but their former vocalist (Phil McSorley) is a turbochud. https://toiletovhell.com/erik-wunder-and-phil-mcsorley-part-ways-cobalt-to-forge-ahead-with-new-album-in-2015/

I'm now going to the 12/29 Sleep show instead of the 12/31 show (have to be back in DC earlier than planned). Apparently eventbrite doesn't have a built-in resale thing as policy, so I figured I would see if the thread needed a pair. Hmu
