There's a Golden Corral across the street from the gym. The Golden Corral also happens to be right on I-75.

I get behind so, so many Buicks and Cadillacs that are turning into that monstrosity. Even at 2-3 p.m., it's full.

Nearby is another buffet. The restaurant routinely gets 70s (and occasionally lower) in health/food scores. The food is awful, bland and greasy. Everyone my age hates it, but our parents still suggest going there.

I use to work in a building that had a doctor's office on the floor below and the patients were all old people (not boomers though) so the parking lot was absolutely packed with these battleship sized cars covered in dings and scratches.

I'm glad some one posted Golden Corral.txt because I still think of it every time I drive past the one in my town. And I invariably think of the kid dunking the chicken leg in the chocolate fountain part too. The only people I know who have wanted to go to one are my boomer age, cheap, and slovenly aunts so it checks out for this thread.

Boomers like to go to parties they're invited to by people they don't like, smile in their faces, and then spend an excessive amount of time talking poo poo about them behind their backs. They also like buying gifts for these idiots and then complaining that they can't afford it.

Sup, Aurora buddy. Assuming you're still here.

I was just having a conversation with my sponsor who is 69 (NICE) and we got I to politics with led to the generational divide and I mentioned that I very likely won't have social security when I'm his age (I'm 39) and when he relied it made me think of this thread right away, which was:

"when my generation was young we just worked hard. You all have stuff we didn't, like 401ks. So why don't they just use that instead?"

So I went ahead and ended our meeting on that point. He's a great guy, but mmm *kisses fingers* classic boomer stuff right there.

Just like Mama used to make it!
That's funny because many, many, Boomers were saying, "Look how much my 401k is since Trump took office! I love it!!!!" a few years ago.

Boomers are also quick to call their financial advisor to SELL SELL SELL SELL when they see their total drop a few numbers when the market shifts.

Similar to this, my experience with getting sober led me to learn that boomers, or at least the angry ones you find in court-mandated dui education classes, also think that anyone who isn't passed out drunk in the gutter right this moment can't possibly be an alcoholic.

I just said he's a fascist garbage person who puts kids in concentration camps and she was telling me how that was all the democrats so them I just hand waved her and walked out. That was both the first time someone got upset by that shirt and also was pro-Trump and didn't try to use some mental gymnastics to say the ICE concentration camps are not concentration camps so I'll give her credit for that.

I mean she's not wrong that Obama did most of the same poo poo that Trump did, though I doubt she was coming at this from a leftist position of annoyance that so many anti-Trump people are actually just mad about how he says the quiet part loud rather than following decorum and exterminating the undesirables in the more comfortable fashion that the Democrats prefer.

Last time someone tried the "everyone is entitled to an opinion" was some co worker who refused to believe me when I told them Chem trails aren't real. Not a boomer, just a big ol moron.

Edit: wait no, I think the last time was in conversation with my dad when that senator for up and espoused a bunch of anti-muslim rhetoric after the NZ mosque shooting and copped an egg to the back of the head for his trouble. We were arguing about whether the senator should have been doing that (I argued no) and whether the kid was right to do it (I argued yes). Dad hasn't yet gotten around to the idea that deplatforming racists is a good idea yet. He'll come around though. He's pretty good about learning from that sort of thing.

I made the observation that shutting up a racist using an egg is far better than a racist shutting up a bunch of lefties by running them over in a car as done in Charlottesville and he didn't really have a counter to that.

Golden Corral in Vegas is awful. Golden Corral in my dad's shithole town was ...actually pretty good.

No one with any talent is cooking at Golden Corral in Las Vegas. They've got to scrape the bottom of the barrel there. In Trump Country, they can have their pick of the best local cooks, or at least the 2nd tier.
