The real world will, again tomorrow, function and run without me.

It makes no sense for krieg to infiltrate the COV in a DLC since you destroyed the COV in the main story

Unless you’re making a joke about the casino originally being cut content from the main game repurposed as DLC, which it was.

Wow, Zane’s new class mod is loving awesome. A chance to fire off kill skills for every bullet hit, and “kill skill” includes the one that adds time back to your clone and drone. They last basically forever now. :allears:

It's a really powerful class mod, but I also kinda don't get what build it's supposed to go with? You want high fire rate and high pellet count guns firing continuously to maximize the number of procs you get, but a lot of the stuff in his blue tree encourages burst damage. Skills like Cold Bore and Fighting Dirty push you toward slow firing big-damage single shot weapons. The mod even gives you bonuses to Fighting Dirty, which seems like a complete waste, you'd much rather roll +0 on that and have the skill points in the other two.

It works a little better with the movespeed-based skills, those still push you towards bursty guns because keeping enemies lined up as you zip around can be tough, but especially if you use shotguns you can land enough shots to keep your skills up. But that build already has two class mods designed explicitly for it.

The new com works great with a Cool Calm Collected build, but that was already his strongest build and it worked fine with a Cold Warrior com. So yeah, the new one is really strong, but it doesnt seem to open up any new builds and might just make some of his older coms obsolete.

I don’t mess with builds much admittedly, all I wanted was Zane to be more of an unstoppable shitkicker like my Amara is and I got that in spades. It makes his kill skills way more useful against spongier enemies.

Just solo’d Mayhem 4 Graveward without going into second wind or having my clone/drone disappear a single time, and it was awesome.

Also for some reason something’s kicking off my melee ammo steal. Not complaining, but I have absolutely no idea why I keep getting my bullet reserves filled up. :v:

All I know is I'm shredding Mayhem 4 bosses with that new Zane mod. The kill skills and the clone constantly up combined with ridiculous move speed(with the skill that gives you bonus damage for moving fast), nothing can keep up with me.

Yeah, it's weird that it seems to make one of the previous builds obsolete. You can get perpetual actions kill uptime much easier than Cool Calm Collected. Hard to justify anything but a Hitman focus now.

Yeah, agreed, I don't think I can get sick of Dameon Clarke as Jack, although he's credited under another name here (alias to hide his involvement?). The ending was a little obvious but it rounded someone's arc off nicely.

The beginning was a little meh but I loved it after that. Some of the map names had a friend and I rolling, especially at the end. They really need to stick the end bits humor, it felt way less forced and more natural.

Got myself a Cryo/Rad Destructo Spinner while levelling Zane. I must say, a weapon that does decent damage to everything while simultaneously applying two useful status effects is very nice.

Yes. They buffed him to be able to activate each of his kill skills twice, and they all work without any issues. It’s a vast improvement over launch, where he was awesome to play through the game and hit a brick wall at 50/Mayhem.

I don't think so, Gibbed said it was difficult, probably has to slow down for content releases too.

Just a PSA: Evil Saint Lawrence in the DLC Spendopticon Market area drops an absolute assload of the new class mods, he just dropped 3 at once.

So hey, if I like loot shooters and mindless killing but groan at the series attempts at humour and was bored by the pre sequel, how does this game innovate on the basic premise of the series? More customization or the same? More interesting enemies and objectives? Something entirely new and unique?

The shooting and looting is better than 2 but the story is on about the same level of quality but way more in your face. Lots of standing around while people talk and not shooting anything, some fun arenas and dungeon type things in the end game tho so once you’re done with the story you don’t have to worry about that aspect anymore.

More weapon variety, better shooting mechanics, more reactive and varied enemies, significantly better endgame. Customization’s expanded for skills and cosmetics, though guns are still static in terms of stats and function once you get them.

I never farmed bosses at all in the previous games but I'm enjoying doing it so much in the endgame that I'm actually gonna start a checklist and try to collect every legendary. There's been a very fun progression for me just starting with the post-game where I couldn't really handle much more than Mayhem-2 bosses but as I've refined my builds and had a few crucial legendary mods drop, I'm now taking down Mayhem-4 bosses easily.

And I just had a Deathless artifact drop so now I'm leveling Moze to try out the build with her where you have massive shields and 1 health. So yea this is one of those games that's giving me 100+ hours of entertainment and I don't see myself dropping it anytime soon. Of course, they'll eventually raise the level cap and I'll have to collect every legendary again...

They made a concerted effort to make skills matter at all levels. A few are pretty marginal but I find a lot of the best ones are on the first tier. I seldom include capstones in my builds, it's better spreading over the trees.

The marginal ones also have a way of tying into other skills that beef them up a bit, so it works out pretty nicely.

That actually sounds somewhat interesting. In a few short sentences, what's the game's biggest problems (apart from characters/story/tone)? I see that Wikipedia mentions lack of innovation, but without going into too many details.

Yea if you're looking for criticisms purely from a gameplay perspective "lack of innovation" is I suppose fairly accurate because it's more of a refinement of everything in BL2 than anything I'd call innovative or new. But almost everything about the combat has been tweaked or improved to make it feel better and more satisfying than it has in the previous games. The guns are more varied and a wider range of them are actually useful, the enemies are better and there is a wider range of them, and the shooting is just punchier and a lot tighter than the previous games. The enemies also have nice ragdoll animations for when you blast them point blank with a shotgun.

Only caveat there is they seem to have hosed up the sensitivity settings, because most everyone has to go in there and turn up the sensitivity to get it to the proper level.

I mean its Borderlands but in 2019, if you are looking for innovation then you'll be waiting till Borderlands 5, there's neat things like being able to slide and climb up places now which are new additions.

As for complaints, I can't find anything that really bothered me outside the mentioned lacking story and inconsistent tone, it's not perfect but nothing really offensive either, the game's just all around good.

They built their game engine around cutscenes being completely unskippable. Which means every time you make a new character you are forced to watch the intro. Every. Time.
