My first concert was Garbage with Lit as the opener. There were less than a thirty people in the audience which was weird as gently caress since it was a free concert (I think so, at least), in a college town. This was when Lit was kinda popular. Garbage was amazing, obviously.

Uh, it was Gary Morris I think. I was at this outdoor recreation show when I was like 12 and my parents made me work this booth they set up. Anyway, he was like the guest of honor and I got goaded by adults into asking him for his autograph and he was a complete dismissive rear end in a top hat, although in fairness I didn't know who the hell he was. I saw the concert part later, he's famous for covering "Wind beneath my wings." Or was. He was probably bitter because Bette Midler covered it much more famously later (and during that time, I guess.) All of my later concert experiences were much better, gently caress that guy.

Me too. Funnily enough to tie in here, my estranged mom refused to drive me to the Pepsi Center because I had a boyfriend who wouldn't help her set up her Internet and I didn't have a driver's license because she refused to allow me to get it!

That was a loving great show though. Crowd booed Jimmy Eat World off the stage.

My mom took me to see The Headstones after I won tickets in a radio call-in contest when I was 13. Some people were smoking weed nearby and she asked if I knew the smell. I thought she was weird because my dad smoked crack and I thought it was like a less gross form of that so I said yes. I didn't know about drugs or the different types, I just sat in my room playing video games and reading books as a kid and just knew it as the gross stuff dad smoked.

She was actually trying to find out if I was smoking it yet because she did when she was in her teens and assumed I was going to do the same thing. I didn't actually try it until I was like 26.

Here's this lady again. I tried to clean up the spelling but gave up pretty quickly.

quote:

I will keep this short as possible. My Estranged Daughter from day one had a tumultuous relationship with now m in law. They were on a strained speaking terms when the chiild. was born. Her mother in law and SILs bonly sibling. , only brother was not permitted to come to the hospital at birth. He was 6.weeks old after much pleading from me to allow them to cone visit him. My daughter allowed a oncexa week visit. We were all a now one bug happy family fir shirtvtime when another disagreement erupted. Wherecdaughters MIL and brother were cut off for three months. The other grandmother bonded with her grandchild so did the uncle No begging or pleading woukd allow them back in my daughters good grces. No pleading from me worked. MIL at herxwirs end reported my daughter to Children’s Aid. Being an immigrant from South American , she was completely unaware of what could have been secevere repercussions. My daughter went hysterical , then ballistic. That was 9 years ago. The MIL was completely severed from the child’s life from there on end. The uncles relationship Was semi severed. All depended on his behaviour on any. given day. . MIL went the legal route that failed. Every avenue act her disposal was exhausted. To gain access. My daughter put roadblocks everywhere. SIL was no match for my daughters wrath. In my conversation with MILs lawyer, he told me he actually seen evil in my daughters eyes. Same lawyer we hired when we were punished.

Fast forward. To now after a year and three last minute cancelations of visits, we got access to the child through SIL, Since birth We were very much hands on grandparents who was ripped out of the child’s life .
We picked up the child by a oreviously predermindedc datecand timec after our punishment was lifted . He was not the same child we were barred from a year ago. His demeanour showed a distant, cool , suspicious , mistrustful angry and sullen child where once he would hug , kiss us over and over. Crycwhen we would leave. Polar opposites. Yes he’s a year older , but feeling doesn’t change of this magnitude in a year.

His uncles name was bought up by accident by my husband. The child s response was I don’t know anything about my uncle , I haven’t seen him in a long time. We then spoke about me, his gradma , when he openly offered I have another grandma. I dont remember what she looks like but I’m not allowed to see her firvyears. . He became sonewgat agutated and exasperated. Why can’t people just get Along? This child is showing some deep rooted problems. Thayptbim convinced. One minute he’s happy. , next minute he acts sad . One minute he’s. Cuddling, next minute he’s distant. . The grandfather who was once his hero in every sense ,now he’s completely disconnected . We know he’s heard some pretty begative and petty things about him as our ED and SIL despises him. Here was a child who moved his chair and his placemat tight to his granddad at the dining table , a child that mimicked his grandfathers mannerisms , a child who followed him arround like a puppy with adoring eyes now to a child whose disconnected.

I want to tell the oarents to stop with the demonizing the grandfather in front of the child has they had done so openly , so often about the other grandma and uncle and now my husband, The child blurts out the disrespectful comments made by his parents. directed towards my husband. There just too much he’s told us , unpromoted. By us that a child would conjure up on his own. He’s
Had behavioural issues since a toddler. An overly indulged child whose parents parenting style. Buy buy buy. But not giving him the basics. A United family.
I see clearly a damaged child in the making. I consider what his parents do , borders on abuse . They do not possess any self awareness to see what they are doing. Both SIL and ED both enjoyed grandparents relationships that were hapoyv and healthy well into adulthood. . But they are denying their child the same.

To start I want the demonization of my husband and myself to stop. Since we’re blocked by every avenue to our daughter , I only have contact with SIL who thinks I’m nuts and refuse tontake anything seriously. Advice how ges to oarents thus child. from two different. child psychologist was scoffed at by him. , so how can I m a simple mother m grandmother. put a stop to this in a way it wont come. to another complete alienation , another punishment Which will cause even more damage. I want to see my GC to look at his Grandad. with that love written all over his face that used to be.. I don’t want to see suspicion and mistrust written all over his sweet face again. I want that gone. What can i do to heal him? I’m truly alarmed at what I seen in a child after a years alienation. Any ideas. , any advice. It woukd truly be appreciated.

And a couple short ones:

quote:

We’ve found all of your threads and websites too, estranged children. Your Reddit threads, where you state how utterly ridiculous we all are for not taking 100% of the blame for your actions.

I hope that everyone the rest of your entire life is perfect. I hope they make no mistakes. I hope they never go through difficult periods in their lives while they know you. I hope you are flawless with them. Lord knows your brutally harsh judgment allows for nothing else, and forgiveness or maturing beyond is a concept too pathetic to ever consider.

Good luck.

quote:

What is really going to hit them is the OLD part of life!

Yes, their eyes sag, face will droop, hair thins, dick drops, hands wrinkle, their kids dump them, forced out of a job because…they are old! Hope they saved their money!!

Age has no favorites. Wonder who they are going to blame for that aging thing??

Even booze will work against them in the form of cancers and those darn divorces..

Hey adult ‘children’ that condemn and estrange us parents, Good Luck with that hate.

He would have beat the poo poo out of her if she tried to so anything about it. My home was extremely broken and I'm amazed I made it this far and as well as I have, honestly. I was a good kid but presumed bad because my mom was bad and thought I was going to end up just like her. She never paid enough attention to get to know the real me, and that never changed, which eventually grew into a lot of our modern problems. Everything I say is a lie, only she knows what's really going on. And she just pushed everyone away.
