Both Shia LaBeouf and James Franco have tried with the former having trouble getting anyone to take him seriously and with the latter just making kinda asinine art.

I hate Jared Leto, so I doubt I'll watch Morbius unless I hear great things from peeps I trust on here. That said, this is the same director, Daniel Espinosa, as the sci-fi horror film LIFE from a few years ago, which was pretty fun and made me cringe.
