Does anyone know how long on average it takes for a show to be aired after it is “announced”?
|
# ? Jan 13, 2020 22:05 |
|
It depends from case to case. For example, the current anime wandering around Netflix jail Dorohedoro got officially announced when the last chapter came out in the second half of 2018, but then the trailers didn't start pouring until October of last year. Also I think we had gotten an announcement like in May 2018 or something that the "Anime Planning Committee" had formed.

Shows don't always announce when their committee is formed too, which skews the numbers. But yeah it takes like 9 months to a year or more of prepwork to get the first couple of episodes animated and establish a pipeline to get the rest done before the end of the season.

Last time on Amachan, Aki learned that sea urchins are in her blood and decided to stay with her extremely cool grandma. Then on Aim for the Ace we watched the first half of the first episode of Gunbuster again, and Hiromi prepares to fight her rival for a spot in Top squadron. Finally on Ryomaden we met the lamest boy in Japan that unexpectedly turned into a kinda cool guy and also Japanese Karl Marx

New to anime so maybe a dumb question. Is there a term or phrase for when characters go into comedic excitement and the drawing turns into MSpaint? I've only watched a handful of shows and they've all done it but one in particular (Hellsing Ultimate) just does not loving stop with elongated scenes with it and I want to avoid this poo poo in the future. vv Thanks Tehran 1979 fucked around with this message at 00:58 on Jan 14, 2020 |

It still shows up here and there, but I think the weird chibi cutaway bits that used to be ubiquitous mostly faded away in the 2010s. It's become a rare enough thing that it feels odd and anachronistic when it does happen.

now they just do the whole show SD instead of just a cutaway

No, I'm pretty sure most shows broadcast in at least 720p.
