There was some post where someone spent a truly ludicrous amount of money on like anime figurines or some other preposterously dumb hobby and just for the life of them couldn't figure out how to stop their kids from being taken by CPS. They might also have been hoarders. I know it was here on the forums, or maybe I dreamed it, but I want to say that they might have turned their life around by the end of the saga in a refreshing change of pace.

Either way the opening was so wildly dumb that they wanted to try to keep their intensely obvious spending problem going, but it was as absurd as the dril tweet in its presentation. I want to say it was thousands of dollars on some clearly unnecessary spending habit of a specific variety.

Edit: I mean candles totally fits but it was something like World of Warcraft or limited edition import games or something.

My girlfriend [24F] of six months just bought a $700 fursuit. She didn't tell me about the purchase beforehand. I [21M] didn't even know she was a furry until now. Am I the rear end in a top hat here for getting upset about this?

quote:

Of course I support her decision, but she still lives with her parents who are horrible to her - I think she should've prioritized getting out of the house before buying an expensive partial fursuit. Also $700 is a lot of money for us and I feel like I should've been consulted before a major purchase like this. Also also apparently she has been into furry stuff for a long time (since before we started dating) and is just now telling me. TL;DR girlfriend made a large purchase without talking to me. She also didn't tell me about being a part of a "fringe" community. Am I in the wrong? Edit: I know I'm wrong about the money part of this. It's her money and therefore her decision.

My [21F] boyfriend [22M] of 6 months walked in on me in my fursuit, weird reaction

quote:

throwaway/alt because my furry side is a big secret.. also this turned into a wall, I'm sorry!

Hi, r/relationships for the sake of this, my bf is Brad and my fursuiting friend is Melissa.

backstory: I've always been afraid to show people this side of me, and I normally just never talk about. it doesn't really come up in normal conversation anyway, so when I have people over I stuff my suit into a box in the back of my closet. Pretty much no one in my life knows that I'm a furry besides my best friend and my ex girlfriend. I know that Brad is kind of weird around the idea of furries, as I saw him browsing r/cringeanarchy once and he was laughing at a picture of one on there.

Now, I know that a lot of furries are freaks. I'm not like that, I like to suit with other people who enjoy it as a hobby, and go to some conventions on occasion. It's just something I like to do, I like to escape into the character, and I don't let it interfere with my life. I don't "act furry" outside of this persona or conventions, or my own apartment occasionally.

My best friend is also a furry, who moved here to be closer to the convention held here. We hang out and sometimes suit together in my or her apartment, just to have fun or make silly videos. Yesterday, I had her over and we were getting suited up to do some dancing, something that we do probably once a week as a fun exercise.

My boyfriend walked in on us, and after staring at us in our suits for what seemed to be an eternity (it was so, so awkward..) he went into my room to grab a notebook he'd left the day before and then walked out the door without saying anything. I had no idea he was going to come over, he didn't text or call me to tell me beforehand. Melissa tried to comfort me, but I asked her to leave so I could be alone.

I've tried calling and texting him, and finally after what seemed like hours, he sent me a text saying "This is really weird. I really need to think about what I saw, I don't know if I can date a dog."

I really don't know what to say to him. I've tried to tell him that I'm not into any part of the sexual poo poo in the fandom, it disgusts me, but no response. We've had a great relationship so far, literally no problems before this.

Is there anything I can tell Brad to make him see this isn't some hosed up fetish? I don't know how to proceed.. I'm worried that not only will he break up with me, but he'll tell other people and I'll be found out.. I really want to keep this part of my life hidden.

tl;dr: my bf walked in on me in my fursuit, says he doesn't know if he can date a dog. scared that he'll expose me or break up, what do I do?

AITA for probably getting all my coworkers fired

quote:

Throwaway account, I'm a 4th year college student & I landed a part time temp position at a small financial institution. The job consists of doing a lot of repetitive data entry type work & I work with about 5 other people in the same position.

So a few weeks ago I figured I could automate a lot of the work and improve the process using the data science programming languages I learned in school, so after a week I managed to write something working that cut my work day from about 6 hours down to 2 hours give or take.

After a few days of just browsing Reddit after my work was done I decided to show this to my boss and after looking at it he assigned me to a team to help improve the process & after the new process was finalized my boss released everyone else but me from the temp contract.

Now my ex coworkers were pissed that they're out of a job and they said I should've just kept it to myself but I figure since it was a temp position the employment would've ended eventually, & I had no idea my boss would fire everyone so am I really the rear end in a top hat my ex coworkers are making me out to be.

Ultra Carp
terrible goon parents reminded me of this story from one of the old 40K threads (Though fortunately the goon is not the parent in this case):

quote:

More local color from Tadhg's favorite FLGS.

I was in to pick up a pounce wheel and some paint, and went over to the consignment case to take a look (never hurts- I actually just got 500 points of Bretonnians and a pewter griffon for $10.) While over there, I saw the most :smith: thing I've ever seen in a gamestore.

25-35 year old guy was there with his wife and daughter (who was maybe five?) Guy has a stack of receipts for things that he's put into the consignment case, and is looking to see if anything has sold. As he lists things off that have sold, his wife gives a little cheer and the little girl does a little dance. Nothing wrong with this scene so far- supportive wife and kid happy that daddy is selling off some of his extra minis.

Then the little girl says, "Yay! Does that mean that I can get juice this week?"

The mom replies, "Yes it does, sweetie!" and the dad adds, "Yep, and if these other ones have sold then I might be able to get some of the new Grey Knights!"

The things that he's put in the cases? Tyranids and Blood Angels, for pretty low prices. $10 here, $20 there.

Then the guy asks the FLGS worker if they charge tax on consignment case sales. FLGS worker replied, "I think so, yes?" Guy starts to :spergin: a bit about how they're already tax-paid items and that the state can't do that, etc. He knows about these things, "... because my accountant told me. He's helped me with all kinds of little things like that. Since I'm way below the poverty line I get all kinds of exemptions and such, especially because of my wife and kid."

After he left, FLGS worker explained to me that the guy is a regular consignment seller. Buys a ton of the latest release, and then sells off the army at 1/4 to 1/2 the original price to help fund some of the purchases for the next new army.

:smith: Dude, if your daughter has to go without juice because you don't have the money, don't buy new Warhams releases and then resell them for a pittance every couple of months. Spend the money on your kid.

Some people are really, really reluctant to disclose their HIV status even when its relevant. I had a patient who, when telling me their medical history, left out the fact they had AIDS. They also didn’t mention their AIDS medication when I asked what meds they were taking.

They were absolutely covered in blood and actively bleeding at the time, so it would have been nice to know before I got a phone call from the hospital.

Am I out of line to ask my (48F) husband (50M) to stop looking at porn with teenagers and stop buying sex services online?

Throwaway because this is embarassing. I (48F) recently discovered, because we recently started sharing one computer account, that my husband (50M) has been jerking off to teenagers. We have three daughters (26, 23, 19) and it's just appalling to me that a man like himself is masterbating to women younger than our own children! Some of these girls are only 18!!!

I know he's less attracted to me than he used to be, he rarely ever starts sex and he often turns me down for sex saying it's just his age catching up to him or he's tired or stressed out. Yet he has plenty of energy to watch porn of girls and fantasize about loving them and he’s apparently buying their “services” with chats and videos and photos. I really just feel like giving up. I talked to my therapist about it at my last appointment and she recommended I talk to him about how uncomfortable I am with some of his porn habits and how it makes me feel. I did. I told him it makes me feel awful about myself and our marriage, I questioned why he needs such young women to look at, and could he please find something else and not interact with them? It went really bad. He accused me of being “pathologically insecure” and that it's "normal and healthy" for men to want to enjoy sexy young women and he can't help what age they are, he just looks for stuff that turns him on. He will not stop looking for what he likes or interacting with them and I need to "get over it". We do not have one of those "open" marriages I've read about on here, so doing sex stuff with other people is not something we agreed on or anything. When I said that, he told me I'm being stupid, controlling, and "online sex is not like real life".

To make matters worse, I talked to my sister about all of this when we were out shopping this past weekend and she called me today saying she’s not comfortable being around my husband because she says he is “cheating with e-whores”.

So am I unreasonable for asking him to find something else besides extremely young women and to stop buying services from them? He says so and I am not sure if I’m out of line on this. How can I keep talking about this with him when he's set in his stance? Should I let it go and try and move on/ignore it because it is just who he's attracted to and that's not conscious?

tl;dr I don't know if I'm unreasonable to request my (48F) husband (50M) to stop looking at porn that includes teen women (of legal age) and to stop paying for sexual interactions when he says it's normal man thing and if I should try and move past it and how to do that or if I should keep trying to talk to him about it.

quote:

Back story, me (23) and my mom aren't very close, we never have been. She was pretty terrible my whole childhood and I grew up pretty much taking care of my sister (18). When I turned 18 I found out she had put a ton of stuff on my credit, basically ruining it. I've been working since then to get everything off, and when I have spoken to her about it, her excuse was "I was drunk, I don't remember that). She had several kinds of cable service, credit cards, even tried to buy a house in my name when I would've been 5 yrs old. Due to all of this and more, I haven't lived with her since 2014. Yesterday, a new thing showed up going into collections from 2017, right before I got married. I called the company and as always it was linked to her email and phone number, but my name. They told me the only way to have it removed was to file a police report. My sister thinks I'm selfish and a bad person if I file one.

-my mom has ruined me and my sisters credit.

-She's probably messing up my 5 yr old brothers.

-My brother and sister still live with her and my step dad.

-She is the only parent my sister has, bc her bio father has passed away and she isn't close to my step dad

I have had to have everything credit wise be put in my husband's name because mine is so bad.

Would I be an rear end in a top hat for filing a report to help fix me and my sisters credit, even though it can mess up everyone else's lives?

TLDR: My mom messed up my and my sisters credit, I want to press charges but my sister is worried about how it'll change her life.

[29m]My wife [27f] admit she's a "Clopper" (My Little Pony porn) and has basically gone crazy with it. Ordered a lifesize plushie and has it on the walls. What do I do?

quote:

5 Years ago I met my wife at the nerdiest of places, an anime convention. Needless to say it has been an awesome 5 years having someone that is just so beyond relatable.

I knew she loved the revamped My Little Pony too, and I enjoyed many an episode with her. It wasn't ever my absolute love like it is for her, but seeing her happy made me happy.

~6 months ago and she admits she has always been into the porn side of My Little Pony. Both males and females. I'm pretty versed in the internet world, so I knew exactly what that was. It didn't bother me one bit, and truth be told I was more surprised she didn't tell me sooner than anything. It's not like we haven't cosplayed kinky anime poo poo.

Anyway, I'm fine, she's fine, she shares some, I personally think the horse genitals and boobs between the legs are a little gross, but she's happy and there are plenty of humanized bits versions down there as well. The porn's not terrifying. Some of it is impressive art really. I support her and we continue on.

We incorporated some pony play. I use her original character pony's name, and she made one up for me. Sometimes she has a slideshow of the porn in the background on the TV.

It didn't stop there though. She wants to get some of her favorite pieces printed on canvas for the walls. She's convinced a My Little Pony with his or her legs spread would be seen as one of those eccentric "artistic" pieces as long as the style is "painterly". I think she's crazy and we have a lot of people over who would definitely also think that's crazy.

But it goes even further. She ordered a custom made, lifesize My Little Pony plushie for a whopping 1.3k. Complete with insert that is basically a Fleshlight with horse genitals. She wants to have a 3some with it, which means I'm going to be tapping a plushie pony apparently. The money part I don't care about since we both have great jobs and don't plan on kids anytime soon, but the idea of sharing the bedroom going forward with an anatomically correct My Little Pony is kinda wiggin me out. She's so hype for it though so I'm just kinda accepting it.

She's already talking about ordering another along with a horse shaped dildo strapon. At this point I'm getting a little worried. I don't mind experimenting with her with all of this, but horses are so not my thing. I don't want it to lead to us hitting a stable one night or something.

What should I do? Outside of this she's great. Do I just see where this takes us? Could this actually lead to her getting into bestiality or something?

TL;DR: Wife is into My Little Pony porn art. Wants to put it on the walls. Ordered a lifesize plushie for 1.3k with insertible horse genital fleshlight to 3some with. What do I do?

Edit since a few people have DM'd about the actual plushie. I honestly only know a bit about it. It's an artist on Deviant Art, and a laying down pose of the pony Starlight Glimmer. A quick search for that and there are a ton that look like the pic she showed me. Something like this (https://i.imgur.com/y1X7hBq.jpg

Bored now...
AITA for telling my gf that she needs to dress more conservatively or I am going to end the relationship.

quote:

So to start off I (25m) was raised under a Christian household and my parents instilled traditional values in me. My gf (23f) of 2 years has a similar background; however during college she started to stray from those values.

When we first met she would dress modestly, and that was always something I found attractive about her. But, then she got some new friends in college and started dressing like — for lack of a better word — a whore. I mean some of the stuff she’s been wearing I feel is way too much. An example of a typical outfit for her now would be a tight crop top, leggings that are practically see-through and a chocker.

After about the 10th time we went out together and she started dressing like this I waited until we got back to my apartment and I just told her the truth. I said, “look I’m going to be as blunt as possible, you are dressing like a harlot and it is really concerning me.” She then replied something along the lines of “what are you talking about this outfit isn’t bad at all you’re being insecure,”

I kind of laughed and said “no I am not, you are making the conscious decision to dress in a way that is revealing and you are certainly aware of all of the attention it brings to you, it’s really bothering me that you are dressing like that because you know that I don’t like it when people don’t dress in public with a little class, so when you dress like that it’s certainly not to get my attention, but to get other people’s attention.”

I also went on about how I dress modestly (typically jeans of the normal variety — and a long sleeve cotton t shirt) and how she would probably have a problem if I went out in public with a tank top and my bulge sticking out. I’ve always felt like people aren’t dressing

I feel like in a relationship both parters should be held to a standard of showing a little class when going out in public and she has known that since the beginning. I told her if she doesn’t uphold to the traditional standard of class that she is free to do so, just without me. She called me an AH and said I was controlling.

So what do you think Reddit. AITA?

AITA for telling my gf that she needs to dress more conservatively or I am going to end the relationship.

He set his boundaries and communicated clearly without any bullshit. They both are free to find partners they'll be happier with.
