so how does winning tons of money at pool work anyway

is it like "hustling" like the stereotype where you pretend to be bad or some poo poo? I assume that's just hollywood stuff, but I mean do you literally just walk into a pool hall and be like OK WHO WANTS TO PLAY FOR MONEY

how much did you have to practice to get good, are you like thousands of hours in or what

like I guess your skill level is somewhere in the gap between like "better than anyone else you will meet in actual real life" and "professional"?

He said he’s somehow able to go around to bars and shoot for drinks with somebody, but then it turns out the opponent has a huge bankroll and escalates bets? I’ve hung with a couple pool players and that has been what I’ve seen too but it usually tops out around $100. I’m sure there’s some high rollers willing to gamble big in my area and I just don’t know where they’re at.

What are the blinds? I would think even .25/.50 could burn through five bucks quick if someone has a bad run.

I haven't quite figured out how blinds work yet, I was thinking 10-20

None of like football or smoke. There will probably be vaping, and one play will show up drunk/stoned, and just get worse as the game progresses, if they way he plays D&D is any indication.

I was just messing with you. I follow a couple poker clubs in my area that is more or less a universal theme at those home games. Bonus points for a partially finished basement and at least one person eating spanish rice at the table.

In all seriousness, you might want to consider, like, .05/.10 blinds. That's what Poker Stars uses for their $5 buy-in games and I always find that to be the right amount to play a good while. Pots can get bigger than you expect, even at that level.

Gambling is losing.

The exception is around 1% for lifetime.
I will stand by that figure, it is no exaggeration. Anyone who disputes it is ignorant of the real extent of gambling itself and of human nature.

I have no more stories to tell at this time. I'm working on a massive effort thread, "SMILIE WARS," to distract me from my dumpster fire life, and nothing I write will be as good as the Hummingbird section of my Cocktale Waitress thread anyway.

Yeah I’d recommend .02/.05 or .05/.10 for a $5 buyin. 5/10 would probably be a little more fun

we started off with .10 .20 but everyone was being so timid that we raised it to .20-.20 after a bit. Pretty much everyone broke even in the end with a couple losers-one of which was my teenage son who is still pouting in his room after going all in with his 2,7 unsuited. It was a lot of fun. We definitely need to make the next game a night game with plenty of alcohol.

Thanks for the concern but seriously never feel worried for me. I could lose my whole bankroll in 20 mins and I wouldn’t even blink an eye and neither should anyone else. Its a part of gambling.
