It's not something anyone should actually do, but back in olde times when we did unethical things cheetahs were considered by far the most domesticable big cat and fairly commonly kept as pets by royals and whatnot throughout antiquity in the region.

I understand that the main hurdle to domesticating cheetahs has always been that they're very high strung and don't breed well in captivity. Otherwise, we'd have domesticated them centuries ago.
