The only reason you need a massive consolidation of information on a person is if you're planning on taking them to court for being a sex pest like Vic Mignogna, otherwise it's just obsession, like knowing what new scam Jacob Wohl's been trying to pull this year. Again, I don't understand how making fun of some clown online is equivalent to gathering "a massive consolidation of information" on them, but this convo is just going in circles so I'll just drop it.

I want to be sure, are we talking about the cool, good series with the tournament, or the weird series that is more serious and kinda generic?

I didn't know Zoids was a cartoon! I mean it makes sense when I think about it but I only knew about Zoids because my older brother had a Strike Zilla Technodroid and I remember there was a tiny golden dude as a pilot.

Kotobukiya's 1/72-scale Zoid kits are fantastic (albeit expensive) models and a lot of fun to build. The series actually hold up pretty well, and put cel-shaded early-2000's CGI to good use. The Zoids move like they're bigass machines with actual weight instead of gliding about on frictionless surfaces like some shows of the period... *cough*Transformers Cybertron*cough*

the concept of a massive post-apocalyptic wasteland where much of the world is decimated landscapes repurposed as massive battle arenas for people piloting building-sized animal robots in a global bloodsport is cool as hell and all the robots are rad. it's like a less-dire mechwarrior, with all the worries about weaponry weight, turning radius, repair and equipment budgeting, and overheating remember the Liger Panzer which was just so Covered With Guns that it could barely walk and almost any movement at all caused it to overheat, its maximum run speed was barely a trot, look at this dumpy fucker lol deploying it required it bracing for impact and sliding to a stop instead of running along the ground to slow down and shooting its main cannons sent it flying backwards it even had a Macross Missile Massacre built in but man it looked drat cool man, Zoids New Century was so cool

You would think that surely it's a tactical platform that makes strategic missile strikes in small batches while using the cannons for support like a Tank. But no, Liger Zero Panzer only has two attacks; "ALL THE MISSILES" and "gently caress you, both cannons".

speaking of zootopia and also CGI in anime, there's a manga series I just caught up on that was first recommended to me as "edgy zootopia", which, while not ENTIRELY wrong, I think tackles topics way more interestingly and nuanced than zootopia does in general(it's also way funnier and has better character writing). There's also a single season of an anime for it, there's going to be more since it was apparently successful, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any big names talking about it much, I feel like netflix messed up its release and it didn't get as much word of mouth it deserved since it's real good. I follow a few anitubers and one mentioned it as a great show in one video, while another only mentioned it in passing as "being in netflix jail". It's called Beastars(Netflix page). It's a similar setting to zootopia with herbivores and carnivores living together in a modern society, with the initial primary focus being on a grey wolf who falls in love with a dwarf rabbit in a school that just had a carnivore murder an herbivore and eat them, and the complications that arise from that. the opening is great, it's done in stop motion to boot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgo9dJB_icw&hd=1 the very first scene is a fantastic re-envisioning of the intro of the manga. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEeHJoYycMM&hd=1 but I guess I'm curious if anyone's really pushing it hard, I've found a couple videos praising it but that's about it. I have a feeling something similar might happen to Dorohedoro since netflix is loving that one up too, lots of people are pirating it because netflix is holding on to the broadcast until it's been completely released instead of putting out episodes weekly. It's a law of the universe that all mock threads must always continually escalate, if the target doesn't then it falls on the thread to do so, but they can also do so on their own for any other reason as well.
