EC3 has good comedic timing and as far as I can tell is willing to not take himself too seriously as a heel. Granted this is knowledge gleaned from his merch (because I didn't watch TNA) and NXT when it was good and I watched the bad company (so before May 2012). I don't know if this is a misinterpretation or if his shtick is so rote at this point that he needs to a heel in the style of Maxwell Jacob Friedman, but I don't want him AEW because he's got poo poo politics not for any reason that he could not be entertaining in a role. https://twitter.com/OBEYBrookes/status/1226120762173644801

MJF had a Dynasty stable in MLW and yeah EC3 could be the goofy comic relief lackey to MJF and do a solid job. But he’s still probably better off taking the WWE money while they’re being leveraged into giving away money. He’s closer to 40 than 30 and becoming MJF’s jester isn’t a great career path.
