I ordered a sound bar from Amazon as an early birthday present to myself because I'm at home for the next two weeks and it won't get here until monday and I have to watch Netflix with regular speakers and it is the greatest national tragedy.

my office this week allowed us to take all our equipment and work from home so that was fun. I work in healthcare as a claims/billing specialist so thankfully it appears I will have plenty of poo poo to do over the next few months. I set everything up in my retired mother's extra bedroom as actually being at home would be hard because of a wife and two kids who would not leave me alone. my mom keeps wanting to make me a grilled cheese sandwich so life is pretty sweet atm

My PC started bluescreening a few days ago and I felt like the guy at the end of the Twilight Zone episode who breaks his glasses

Turned out the GPU fan was overclogged with dust

I started protein folding again so my CPU and GPU are going insane right now. Like 90C. I'm doing it both on my main rig that I never use and my laptop here. I just used some duster on my laptop and blew out a ton of dust. I ran out though so I ordered some more cans from Amazon. I accidentally double ordered so now I have 8 cans coming. And it's some new stuff that's supposed to be bad for huffing. :(

Some local farm markets are open, unstaffed, on the honor system. Got these strawberries, half a bushel of sweet potatoes, a really pretty head of kale, beets, turnips, and rutabagas for free without having to be interact with anyone! Raiding is awesome!

I signed all my kids up for online education stuff today. I also snagged grade appropriate workbooks for math/science/reading.

This week the only scheduled education stuff I had them do was a reading time, and a check on their school laptops to see if their teachers had assigned anything.

Next week I'll be taking a much more active hand in this. How are you guys handling your kids school work during this shutdown?

We don't have kids but many of my coworkers do and they are literally forming online support groups for each other because it's hard for a lot of them to juggle work while watching the kids. I feel bad for them but

We were going to offer to babysit so service workers or whoever in our building could still go to work. We’re both like, certified to work with children and have the appropriate background checks and stuff.

But then I got sick and have to isolate for two weeks! So it’s just Civ 6!

Been on the forums non-stop since then.

The weather has been really lovely. Cold and raining. I want to go hiking sometime but the weather won't even be into the 40s until next week.

I'm going to fry my two computers doing this. This is bad. At least it'd give me an excuse to get another one. This laptop is 3 or 4 years old but still plays any game I want.

It was because all I ate for lunch was yogurt and a banana...
