One day I found out that my urine was acting like a powerful foaming agent.
Really is quite crazy how applicable the themes of Death Stranding are to the current world situation. Isolation, reliance on telecommunication and delivery workers in the face of a worldwide quarantine. Dude is a prophet.

For Real!
I'm only just starting to fall for this game, finally finished chapter 3 after like 24 hours gametime. Started ch4 this morning and shits getting crazier!

Love it, the idea of an elaborate walking sim is enough for me but add in that Kojima craziness and I'm all over it.

Yeah I thought it looked different since I didn't look close on my phone but I guess it's the regular truck with the Half-Life symbol. For some reason the front of the truck always throws me off when looking at them.

I rebuilt the entire stretch of road from Lake Knot to South Knot, feels good, although I wish the trucks and bikes had a radio you could listen to the music player, the constant engine noise is really starting to annoy me while I'm making these long deliveries.

good luck with the next stretch from the collector to mountain knot. i built the second road out as far as the town just after the second incinerator, but lost interest in taking it all the way to mountain knot, primarily because mountain knot and all its surrounding preppers are better serviced with an elaborate zipline network (the vehicles suck 90 different kinds of rear end when not on a perfectly flat surface)

For some reason I was in a hurry and when Mama suggests trying out the zipline outside her lab I skipped it. So I never really knew what they did, and went through the next god knows how long collecting the ceramic required to finish every single road, and only after all that work did I build a zipline and suddenly feel super stupid.

Only thing the roads end up being good for are the few deliveries where you need a truck (like the 600 kg one or the one with 20 or 30 S sized packages).

Yeah I basically did it to do those ones from South to Lake that have 1 to 2 tonnes worth of stuff in order to get them to 5 stars, and it made it a hell of a lot easier for the pizza guy as well. Most of the mountain area is pretty accessible already with a vehicle so I plan to only do the first few pavers outside of mountain knot.

Please convince me to keep mainlining the story; I got sidetracked doing side jobs after unlocking zip-lines, and suddenly I'm halfway to "Growth of a Legend" but half the country is still offline. I'm guessing this next job is the end of chapter 5; I have to take Mama to meet her sister in Mountain Knot City. Any preparations I should make?

Also, the OP should probably have a list of which preppers are worth going out of your way to level up. I made the mistake of looking up a list of all the facilities and their rewards; don't be like me and get spoiled.

You can set human cargo down in a safe place during an enemy encounter and pick them up later. You can also heal them in a hot spring.

Yeah, I remember that from the most annoying quest in Chapter 3. While I'm asking dumb questions, is there a way to refill ammo/uses of custom equipment like grenades that can't be manufactured at a printer? What about upgraded versions you haven't unlocked of normal gear?

The custom stuff you can’t refill without going to the issuing shelter, though you frequently find it in mailboxes and share lockers from other players. I don’t actually know about stuff you haven’t unlocked yet; if it doesn’t refill at a private room you probably can’t refill it either.

Update on this escort quest (late chapter 5): right before it happened, the game was introduced a really useful mechanic, and somehow made it sad? And now a boss fight when I had so much poo poo parked outside in that truck/safe house!!

It's annoying because the game tells you to run, which is almost never a viable option when fighting Catchers of any kind, and certainly wasn't possible the last time I fought this particular jackass. But as my boss, Die-Hardman, would no doubt say: "Now I have a level 2 assault rifle. Ho, ho, ho."

Related: I don't know how to feel about the characterization of Higgs. His motivations beyond "death and destruction" remain unclear, and he's done some vile poo poo, but when he rolls at the end of chapter 2 calling himself the "God-particle that permeates all being" I can't help but love to hate the smug bastard in the same way I did Volgin.

Finished the game! And to be honest, I'm not sure how I'm feeling. It doesn't help that the ending feels like it goes on for half the game, and is almost detached from everything that came before it. For most of the game everything involving The Beach/chiralium was actually consistent in how it worked, but it was during one of the Amelie's incredibly long speeches that the game finally just lost me. This is the first time in my life I feel like I need one of those youtube lore videos, except I have a feeling nobody knows any more than I do.

So Amelie is basically in beach hell for all eternity, but this time lonelier than ever? Why'd she actually change her mind?

What is the meaning of Sam giving the gun back to Die-Hardman?

In the end I feel like whole thing came off as pretty tragic, despite the chill and optimistic nature of most of the game game (but again, maybe the sheer length of the ending stretch is making it feel distant.) Sam distances himself from society again, probably because of the first thing, his goodbyes are pretty bittersweet especially since Deadman and Fragile are losing one of the few connections they've ever had, and he only got to recognize ghostdad for a few moments. Also Die-Hardman really didn't deserve everyone being on his case that bad.

The gun killed him as a baby I guess and started everything off? I don't really get what the point was either beyood the beach thing, and I'm not sure if Sam is meant to be angry at him, since he didn't pull the trigger.

Wishing a swift recovery to the affected. Where is KojiPro located now? Southern California somewhere, right? Pretty much everybody down here has been working remotely for the last two weeks.

Also, can’t help but wonder how this would have gone down five years ago at Konami. Ironically, Kojima himself would have probably been safe if he was, as rumor has it, working on a completely different floor from the MGSV team.

put in some time today to finally get the platinum and have a quick look at photo mode - seems pretty cool, nothing really special beyond most other photo modes you get nowadays but there are a good number of poses for sam and BB, not really going to get into taking screenshots until I get it on PC though. I remember someone hoping for this when it was revealed but unfortunately you can't make BB put up its dukes like in that one cutscene!!

The BB "grumpy" pose is the dukes thing.

I tried going into the battlefield memory and posing with Clff but I couldn't get anything good. It was kind of tedious since he's always turning around to face you and his close attack hits really hard, causing you to restart.
