All these diy cleaners and no one ever says to just mix bleach/rubbing alcohol/hydrogen peroxide and water in the right amounts for whatever I guess it's not as trendy as making homemade hand sanitizer from jasmine and elderflowers.

In four shopping trips in the last two weeks, a combined total of like 9 different stores from those trips have been 100% completely and utterly sold out of any disinfecting products, all bleach products, all ammonia products, all hand sanitizers, and generally speaking everything I could possibly use to actually disinfect anything.

I do have hand and dish soap, however.

I'm getting to the point where that post about DIY soap-spray and whether it would work based on the lipid soaping is something *I* have seriously had to consider.

Number One I order you to take a number two.

quote:

The T4 virus initiates an Escherichia coli infection by binding OmpC porin proteins and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) on the surface of E. coli cells with its long tail fibers (LTF).[9][10] A recognition signal is sent through the LTFs to the baseplate. This unravels the short tail fibers (STF) that bind irreversibly to the E. coli cell surface. The baseplate changes conformation and the tail sheath contracts, causing GP5 at the end of the tail tube to puncture the outer membrane of the cell. The lysozyme domain of GP5 is activated and degrades the periplasmic peptidoglycan layer. The remaining part of the membrane is degraded and then DNA from the head of the virus can travel through the tail tube and enter the E. coli cell.

I guess if you really wanted to you could still board one. Getting off will be a lot trickier if/when the ronies break out on board, and no country wants a plague ship in their harbour.

A whole bunch of them are still continuing because no country will allow them into dock. There's a bunch of cruise ships just hanging around outside Australia and the government has been "strongly suggesting" they return to their ports of origin and is starting to look into ways they can force them to move on.

There's a bunch of Australian citizens stuck on a cruise ship in Uruguay and their travel company had organised a flight back for them and passengers from another ship which was going to cost each passenger several thousand dollars each, but the other ship wasn't allowed to dock and the travel company told them "Welp, we still gotta cover costs so without all those other people the price of your tickets has now increased $3200 apiece!"

Interesting.

I'm saying they should have gotten better education. Either they weren't told how to wear them properly, or it wasn't impressed upon them how important it is to wear them properly. Should have had that UN lady running as a commercial on their entertainment channels or something to help people keep themselves and each other safe.

More deathship news, but WTF is going on with their masks? She hasn't bent the nose clip and is wearing her mask over her glasses, and he's not even trying. Surely people on a plague ship get instructions on how to properly wear masks? Geez no wonder poo poo keeps spreading on cruise ships if this is how seriously people take protective measures.

Well maybe they only get one mask each and they have to keep wearing it day after day, so the first day you wear out the right way up, the second day you wear it inside out, the third day you wear it upside down, the fourth day you wear it upside down and inside out, then on the fifth day you start over. :pseudo:

Maybe they're just saying if they're that bad at applying a simple mask, how good were they at washing hands and using sanitizer and not touching their face and not crowding into common areas? Judging by upside down askew beardy guy and flat over the glasses lady I'm gonna say they weren't very careful about limiting exposure in the first place.
