Do you like scary movies?

With your inhuman voracity to consume horror movies, I'm surprised you haven't seen all of them by now.

If I didn't need sleep, going to work, and socializing here and there, while I'd have watched a lot more, there's always going to be films I've not seen yet. I'm kinda wondering if I should put a cap on how much I watch in a day for the April Challenge just to see how much I can do in 13 days.

Even the worst horror movie ever made seen with a packed audience on opening night can be a good experience. Packed theaters with jump scares are why horror movies were made.

One of my best movie experiences ever was seeing The Ring from the balcony of my college town's tiny theater one Saturday night. People were loving screaming when that little girl climbs out of the TV for the first time.

The greatest movie going experience I ever had was going to see Blair Witch Opening Night in a backwater Louisiana town. People lost their loving minds at the end of that movie , but also becaues someone in the front row right at the end jumped up with a mask and a fake knife and ran screaming through the aisles.

Also I saw it with people who thought this poo poo was legit real thing.

Goodness no, now that wouldn't do at all!

Just finished watching Creepy, and while I don't know if I liked it as well as Pulse or Cure, it's I think a whole lot meaner than either. It's still good, and I'm definitely interested in looking up more Kurosawa stuff since dude seems to really know how to craft some smart, cerebral horror movies. And not sure if it carries throughout all of his work, but I do like how the three films of his I've seen definitely have settings that have a sense of decay and starkness.

Casino problem solved! They furloughed 95% of staff last night. It's just me sitting in an empty casino and I don't get to show movies to my lone coworker because he is working a different shift to cover the shortages; so I'll just read on my Kindle.

Keep us updated with regards to any mobster ghosts or ghosts of broken gamblers that might appear to you while you're hold up in there. Oh and definitely tell us if a ghost bartender shows up and asks you what you're drinking tonight.

I guess I'll be the one to defend The Hunt as a good b movie fodder with a weak plot but moves at a quick pace and along with some good gore. Also I am always a fan of a good knock down drag out fight.

It was far better than I expected. There were a lot of cringey lines, but they felt like intentionally jarring shorthand in service of keeping up that pace and aggressive irreverence. I was more let down by the bad cgi blood than anything.

Just finished Hell House LLC and it's... fine? It's solid and good without ever really transcending the genre. If you don't get seasick watching FF (a problem a friend of mine has), it's a perfectly serviceable movie but it'd be hard to recommend it as anyone's first FF movie.

I watched this last week and thought of Cure while watching (also Cold Fish). Wasn't shocked to discover Kurosawa directed it afterward. It isn't his best film but it is absolutely brutal.

There simply isn't a good movie experience to be had there if you truly love cinema.

Annoying children, garbage left everywhere, amazing rudeness, the scene has changed through the years and for the worse!

I'll only watch a movie in public if it's in a small venue with an agreeable audience. Alamo Drafthouse is a shining example of how the scene should continue to live.

But just wait for the DVD if you've any real interest in experiencing a movie. The crowd can destroy the experience just as much as it can make it.

Funny you should mention that, because Alamo Drafthouse is the only theater I go to anymore. So I guess when I say "I miss movie theaters" what I really mean is "I miss Alamo Drafthouse" and I really hope they can reopen when this is all over.

As some one who has every copy across multiple platforms and such, it's still a neat find when someone new puts them up. It gives you a reason to watch them again.

See also why I've seen every Godzilla movie made prior to 2014 in excess of 15 times, not exaggerating.

Shin Godzilla I've only seen ten times comfortably and King of the Monsters 2019 I've only seen six or seven so far.
