Just watched Fascination last night and really dug it. Want to jump more into Rollin so I think I'm going to do Lips of Blood and/or The Demoniacs tonight. Other than more of his filmography, anyone have any similar sleazy vampire flicks of the 70s that I should pursue?

This sounds like faint praise but it's the best thing the Soskas have done. I rewatch it more than a lot of horrors.

it's the only slight justification for the Soska Sisters having a career that exists on this earth. everything else they've done is batshit terrible and American Mary is instead kinda okay-ish.

I mean, it's a pretty impressive first film and their ABC's short is fun enough.

Their WWE poo poo and low budget Rabid remake aren't of interest to me, but I wish someone would give them more money. They have a good mind for body horror and are at least interesting.

Comparatively. Quality not guaranteed.

3 kinda sucked, and had really nothing to do with the first 2, where 4 was a continuation of 1 and 2.

1 and 2 were pretty great. 3 I didn't watch much of, and 4 was interesting but not fantastic.

If you don't keep at least three of the others then you don't even have Scream to pick.

Also it's Carrie, Halloween and The Exorcist, and the only one of those you get to debate is Carrie versus TCM.

It also has a great song about the movie ending song.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcU5xswMkac

It's a hidden gem of horror.

Like its one of the best ending songs about the movie . Hell I'd put it above Man in the Mask by Alice Cooper but below Howling 2 .

:hmmyes:

I would've said Jason instead of Michael Myers but Halloween '78 and Halloween '18 are just too perfect. I wasn't even a Myers fan until '18, then it just clicked and now he's up there with the greats. TCM is my all-time favorite standalone horror movie (TCM 2 is amazing, but it's pretty much The Choptop Show) so Leatherface is on the list for that alone. And my favorite horror franchise is Child's Play/...of Chucky, so I have to include Chucky on my list.

I just watched The Day The Earth Caught Fire, which turned out to be a total disaster movie. It was recommended to me in this thread so I thought maybe disaster counted as a subgenre of horror or something.

Good movie tho
