It’s not a science vehicle, it just has seals and filtration systems in place to help a crew survive in a contaminated environment. And “lucky enough to crew” one? Yeah I’m sure doing maintenance on one in the motor pool for endless hours each week was a blast, and the all the additional components in the NBC version made it extra fun.
