I think avashalom is still allowed to post because she is often one of the funnier posters on the forums. I think it's ok, even good, that better posters may get cut a little more slack once in a while also, copying and pasting fictional written fart fetish stuff that apparently involved characters under 18 (i haven't and will not read it to verify) is gross and should not be allowed on the forums, or really on the internet in general, but I don't know that it should be considered the same as "posting underage porn."

Avs made a bad call however you slice it and obviously there should be consequences for that. The exact severity of those consequences is something I have little opinion on. Definitely seems like she regularly deliberately gets banned and just flies too close to the sun sometimes, but I also feel like the mods try to be more lenient not bc they're all her friends but bc she's overall a fairly harmless person. In the end she knows it's play stupid games win stupid prizes. Obviously I'd be very surprised if she was actually a pedophile but it doesn't change the impact of her actions if it was a miscalculated joke. At the same time that's not what she's permabanned for now. So it goes.

Avs is just going to rereg and fly under the radar in a few quiet threads until an admin notices and runs an IP check or she decides to go on a trolling spree again anyway, yeah. This isn't me saying "Don't bother with a perma" though because she did have it coming for prioritizing posting underage fart fics she quickly searched up on DA over respecting the boundaries of a mental health thread or even reading the fic to see if it might include underage characters in it. If she feels like gambling her accounts on middling fart literature, that's her prerogative.

In theory it's meant to be a "ban on sight" thing, I think, but in practice yeah it's just a matter of not raising any flags. SA doesn't a way of tracking every active lurker on the forums if they put themselves on invisible mode, I assume, given the number of bitter stalkers who create accounts just to lurk and report on poo poo to offsites. And the admin tool to do IP checks is something primitive like "X IP address has been used by Y accounts" which can be kind of circumstantial given there are ways to spoof IP addresses or multiple accounts might just share IPs for other reasons. Lowtax insisted there's no way to see credit card info short of calling the payment processing company directly in like a life-threatening emergency or whatever.
