the worst thing about all of this is that somewhere in the past there is a post where i have strongly endorsed the wrestler velveteen dream. this could be taken to mean i did the things that he did even though i didn't. i would never join wwe. obviously i would never do this other thing, much more importantly. i am having to bail out of a joke due to cowardice. if it were a strong joke mayb ei wouldn't. We'll never know

Someone on the twitter machine did some detectiving work, arguing that this whole thing might be faked to begin with:

However, that twitter user is not actually defending Dream at all, and admits that they've been a victim of sexual abuse in the past too, just trying to go look at all angles here.

Personally  hosed up if some kids tried to get attention by faking some screen shots and accused someone of something so disgusting, more disgusting if these weren't photoshopped and he's actually a nonce

It's like goldy or bronzy, but made of iron.

God, imagine being a low card WWE guy.

You come into the company with experience from outside. Maybe you've toured the world and been a champion somewhere else. Doesn't matter, you're off to the performance centre so that Lacey Evans can decide if you do a forward roll right. Great, now time for a million cartilage destroying ring exercises while you learn to do all your moves to the hard camera.

Okay, now you're off to do dark matches on NXT. Your name on the indies was "Quicksilver" Jack Dawkins, but now you're sure you'll stun the world as Chud Bellamy. You lose your first fifteen matches to a former second stringer from the Tennessee Volunteers who had never watched a wrestling match before he was signed and who has been allowed to keep his real name. In one match you do a corkscrew shooting star press that the crowd pop for. In the back you're told not to do it again.

Finally you make it to NXT TV. You have good matches but are quickly put into a stable called The Undercard Your blue and silver lighting-bolt tights are traded for black trunks and you're given a beanie and a biker vest and asked if you can grow a beard. You try, it looks terrible. Your beard gets criticised at a production meeting.

After a year you and your partner in the Undercard (Worked as Valliant on the indies, now named Mason Strongo) have a hard fought battle for the tag titles. You finally feel like you're getting somewhere. Two weeks later you and Mason lose your titles in a handicap match to Jinder Mahal who has been sent down to NXT to "sharpen up". You have been employed by WWE for three years at this point.

A couple of years later, with the Undercard in your rear view mirror and now just going by Bellamy, you've started making a name for yourself. Your T-shirt tells okay on Shopzone although you don't like the design. You even got to be a surprise entrant in the Rumble after MVP hurt his knee the night before. You were eliminated in 49 seconds. However this gets creative to remember who you are and you're called up.

You spend a month working with people on what Bellamy's gimmick should be on Smackdown. You want to showcase your high flying and your submission holds, they think that with your beard and your beanie you'd work better as a brawler. You again offer to shave the beard, they tell you not to be stupid. After a couple more conversations you resign yourself to the idea that Bellamy is going to be a lone wolf tough guy, and you watch a whole bunch of Bruiser Brody matches.

You have a dark match before Smackdown that goes fine. the brawler character isn't that bad, and while the crowd doesn't know you yet, they pop for a spot where you do a middle rope diving lariat. Nobody is in Gorilla when you finish your match. You have a shower, go to catering and get some hot tea. Vince spots you.

Next week you debut on Smackdown as "Hot Tea" Chud Bellamy, a wrestler who brings a cup of hot tea to the ring with him and insults the crowd until his opponent throws hot tea over him. Two weeks later it's shortened to Hot Tea Chud.

A month after that you get released. Because the crowd weren't connecting with you.

both revenue and earnings were better than expected. earnings in particular were 60% higher than the predictions. it seems like investors care more about that than whether bart blort was cut from the performance centre. what a bunch of idiots.

There’s a good chance WWE prices will continue to rise over the next month as other companies fare less well than they do. It’s likely more and more investors will look to buy what seems like a really safe bet over the next year or two while the poo poo hits the fan elsewhere

WWE should seriously be reconsidering their live event business model right now. It's just a shame that putting on a show in front of half an arena filled with fans not very interested to be there is more profitable than putting on a live show in front of a smaller/hotter crowd, because they are going to pick what makes more money every time.

this can happen just because of how jpeg compression works. it breaks an image down into 8x8 pixel squares and those are processed independently. this can lead to a group of pixels with varying colors to have white areas that are artifacted while being next to groups of pixels that are entirely white which aren't, because there's really no need to compress a solid color. run through a resizing and another compression cycle and it can get even worse, with new artifacts building on top of the old ones because the grid is now different and artifacted pixels are spilling out into new groups of 8x8 pixels. if you just take a lossless screenshot of the instagram verified star and then convert to jpeg at 80% or something you can see it for yourself.

and the star being cut off on one side or another is because of how instagram splices page elements from a single big image and I assume the exact math on that can get fuzzy between browsers, versions, probably iOS/Android version as well. On desktop the left side of the star is slightly cut off for me.

that said IT IS incredibly easy to fake this kind of stuff except for finding a nude photo of a dude whose body looks exactly like velveteen dreams, but none of those things are a smoking gun or whatever.

You had me up until the end.

More like... you've started wrestling at the age of 22. You spend 5 years in the indies, then 3 more years in NXT. You're now 30 years old. You're called up to the main roster for a 5 year contract, do nothing for 4 1/2 years. You're now 35 years old. With your contract about to expire, you finally get push at Hot Tea Chud Bellamy. With this potentially being your big break, you decide to sign a new 5 year contract for big money because they are afraid you may take this gimmick to AEW. Shortly after the beginning of your contract, Vince loses interest in you. You sit in catering for 5 more years. You're now 40 years old.

You've lost all passion for the sport that you had when you started out at 22. You realize that you've accomplished nothing with your life over the past 18 years aside from being that guy that had tea thrown at him a few times on Smackdown. Inevitably, you're offered another 5 year contract renewal for even more money. You decide to take it, because your career has been ruined and you have no other options elsewhere. 2 years into your 5 year deal, you are terminated for cost cutting measures. You're now 42, way past your prime, and have no other options for work. You decide to become a real estate agent, finally settle down. You have your first kid at 45 years old, and they don't graduate from high school until you're 58. You've realized you missed out on the best years of your life, with regrets about why you kept signing those 5 year contract extensions.

You are eventually offered a guest spot on The 2000th's episode of Raw to make an appearance in an in ring segment as Hot Tea Chud Bellamy. You cannot resist the temptation to return to WWE for one last moment of fame, and to show your kid what that you were once a WWE superstar. You end up suffering a devastating neck injury after taking a botched suicide somersault plancha from Lacey Evan's kid, who is now a WWE second generation wrestler. You live out the rest of your life confined to a wheelchair.
