Last night I checked and my turnips had spiked to 639. turnip.exchange wasn't allowing new islands at the time so I set it up on the Discord bot and hung out for three hours till Nooks closed. It was awesome! Thanks for all the tips! Only hiccup was that Leif was also in town so when someone decided to do extended bush shopping it dialog-blocked people from leaving. The rest of the night it was a smooth in-and-out. My house is fully upgraded so I'll probably take the tip money and start working on my wife's beachfront property next. She got frustrated with the couch-coop and has her own island now, but is still mayor-in-absentia. She was also on last night appreciating people's outfits.

So I've finally unlocked terraforming and upgraded my shop. I'm psyched to start customizing my island, but I'm a bit intimidated by the amount of work that might take, as I want to have several islands. Wish we could have multiple islands. Anyways, was wondering which one should I attempt to do (this will take me like a year or so probably since I am so slow at this game) 1. My island's name is buttsville, was considering making a two butts since I have 2 river openings. 2. I kinda wanted to recreate the scene from Parasite where the family runs down from the rich people's house down all those stair cases to their poor dirty shack

Every time they change something that pisses people off, it warms my cold, dead heart. This game is meant to be played over the course of seasons, but everybody seems to be intent on speedrunning everything like crazy. Complaints about the shop being closed for renovation, or Redd not being there until tomorrow, or Nintendo's slight constriction (not shutoff) of your stupid infinite money bug pipe are delightful to me. I am a cranky villager and I'm sure I would be the one with pitfalls around my house but I don't care

I was upset about the peacock nerf, but they were so abundant, I was literally running past every other bug. Now I'm excited to see any bug again, I guess it worked. I was really only racing to get the basement as my closet was half the island at the start. I'm gonna take my time on the last loan.

Feel free to go in a different direction with this, but the way I'm picturing it is the island is broken up into three tiers: There's you and your secret basement dweller living in opulence at the very top of the hill surrounded by fruit trees (lots of Peach trees, for a bonus reference to Parasite) and all the prettiest flowers and decorations, then you go down the first set of stairs and you have the middle layer where you put the shops and the museum (and maybe two or three of your favorite villagers) maybe put some not so nice decorations here and your islands native fruit trees (so they have fruit, but not fancy fruit), then you climb down the final set of stairs and you reach the bottom layer where things just truly suck, no trees only tree stumps, no flowers and garbage everywhere, it's bad here just do everything you can to make it bad.
