The the last two episodes has been very good. I don't get your problem. It's like you have watch so many bad shows you don't know a good one when you see it. Everything it has set up this season has paid off. The plot oddities were intentional and paid off. It has mostly ignored/ditched season 2 carrying over the most important core elements. It's a retcon that isn't a retcon. It's why after the first episode I was impressed at how they salvaged the show. We are weeeeeell pass Ford/Hopkins, this has nothing to do with his plan anymore, that was achieved when he died. It's rather interesting I don't know who I want to win nor know who will win.

It's a spiritual continuation for sure. I can sort of see why they didn't go for the spin off as the story was told and they weren't going to get the money for it. The door is still "Open" but I am happy with where it ended, lets not monkey paw it. Also PoI is owned by CBS.

I love Westworld S3. I rewatched S1 recently and it's very good, although the Bernard/Arnold poo poo is cheating as gently caress. I got two episodes into rewatching S2 and I just couldn't. Nope! And sure enough, S3 is about that conflict. Chirac's goal is to prevent the extinction of humanity, even if it means enslaving it. His AI keeps predicting the extinction of humanity, but he doesn't realize that the hosts would carry on the legacy of humanity. (Made in their image, imitates their thoughts/emotions/behavior/lives, etc.) S1 and S3 are a really good show. S2 is garbage. As long as S3 doesn't end with "it was all virtual reality," I'm sold!
